What changes are going to be made to polymorph any object in Pathfinder? I figure it should still be able to duplicate all the other spells it used to (such as baleful polymorph and flesh to stone), so that part won't need to change.
It should work like the new greater polymorph, but with objects added as new polymorphing targets and results. An object polymorphed into a creature gains the stats of an average member of that creature's species, but its special abilities are still limited by the terms of greater polymorph. A creature polymorphed into an object gains the object's hardness and resistance to energy damage, but retains its own hit points.
The only part I'm not sure of is the duration. Should the old duration table be kept, or should we still limit creature-to-creature and object-to-creature polymorphs to 1 min/level? If we don't keep the table, I think creature-to-object polymorphs should be permanent.
