Downer Tarantula, dead and gone?

Comics

Liberty's Edge

I seriously loved this strip and miss it. Is it gone for good?

Looks like, this and Zogonia too. The druid from Mount Zogon reminds me so much of my friend, they even have the same hair color and talk to plants.

Downer actually concluded its story in the last issue of Dungeon. We've since re-released the first half of the series in graphic novel form, and plan to eventually finish it off with a second. Check it out here:

James, do you know if Kyle has any interest in the further exploits of Downer? Like, as in, getting permission (if he needs it, I don't know how that works...) from WOTC to continue w/ the series? I'd love for him to continue Downer's adventures for Paizo. I'm sure we could squeeze 2 pages of Downer into PF! :)

It's too bad Downer is discontinued. I think his escapades brought the Underdark to life in a way that no sourcebook had ever done. I'd like to see more, even if it's only an occasional cameo in Pathfinder.

I still wait for Zogonia to come back...

I'd be ecstatic to see that too! I busted a gut reading that fine collection. Kev FTW!

........aaaaaannnnd here we are more than 9 years later. Still waiting. You're use of the word "eventually" clearly meant a lot more long-term than I - or anyone else, I'd imagine - had anticipated. Seriously, what's the deal here?

Olbere,

I think the fact you've been waiting (not me) says more about conclusions that will never come.

1 person marked this as a favorite.

It was mentioned on the product discussion page of Vol I in 2013 that they had no plans of releasing Downer Vol 2. In fact, now Vol I is out of print. It is sad, as I enjoyed the series, but at this point it's fan base is likely fairly small. 10 years OOP is a long time.
