Notes
1. The BPPS (bardic performance point system) is an attempt at streamlining and simplifying the BP abilities. It merges several abilities, eliminates a few other and fails to deal with a few other. The rules presented below are not meant to be complete. I simply want to get your feedback on the feasibility of a point-based BP system. The names of the basic concepts (performance point, performance pool) can be changed to mana points, muses' blessings/kisses, talent surges/reserve or anything that feels more "bardic" than points.
The system is inspired by the rage points/rage powers and the ki pool/ki powers systems.

2. The suggested tweak does not cover the bardic performances (BP) listed below. I am waiting for the update to the rules regarding the DC for the saving throws. Additionally, I have concerns about the power level of the Paralyzing Show and Deadly Performance BPs.

3. The system removes the following BPs and merges them into the Inspire Victory BP:
Inspire Courage +1, +2, +3, +4
Inspire Greatness

4. The system removes the following BP and merges them into the Inspire Defeat BP:

5. It gives 2 + bard level points to spend on BPs. The system allows more BPs per day than in Alpha 3, but helps the bard in the same way as it helps the barbarian: it gives the character more flexibility to use his signature ability.
6. The maximal number of cheap abilities usable per day at lower levels has been increased, but more powerful powerful abilities cost more PPs and may be used fewer times per day.
7. The number of PPs/day and the costs of BPs will continue to be adjusted. However, I see no reason to make the number of PPs dependent on an ability score which would increase the pool of points.
Tweak
Starting at 1st level, a bard gains a number of performance points (PP) equal to 2 + her level. The bard can use PPs to power his bardic performances. As he gains levels, he accesses new BPs and more powerful versions of already mastered BPs. Each BP has a minimal level requirement.
Each use of BP consumes a set number of PPs. PPs are renewed after a full night's rest.
