While I am opposed to the Fly skill in general, I believe if it is going to remain it should belong with the Acrobatic feat while Climb should belong with the Athletic feat. That is pretty much it. The reasons are fairly self-explanatory. The two Dex-based skills would fall under one feat and the two Str-based skills would fall under one feat.

There are already two Dex-based skills under acrobatics - balance and tumble. So, you're adding a third. Mind you, I'm not complaining. I'd like to see Fly rolled into Acrobatics, too.
But I don't think we'll get our wish.

Under 3.5 rules, Acrobatic gave you a bonus to two Dex-based skills (Balance and Tumble) and Athletic gave you a bonus to two Str-based skills (Climb and Swim). They took Climb away from Athletic when they merged Balance and Tumble into one skill and then added a new skill to fill the void they created. Seems to me it would have been a much simpler process to combine Balance and Tumble, then fill the void left by that action with the new skill, thereby saving a step in the process.
1) It makes conversion easier.
2) It makes more sense.

I think you both are talking at cross-purposes (had to look that up).
The OP proposed what I was thinking too:
ACROBATIC FEAT(!)
+2 to Acrobatics and Climb
ATHLETIC FEAT(!)
+2 to Fly and Swim
I think they mixed that up to no good.
"Our" proposal is to exchange climb and fly:
ACROBATIC: +2 to Acrobatics and Fly
ATHLETIC: +2 to Climb and Swim
MY PROPOSAL:
Alertness: +2 to Perception and Sense Motiv

Acrobatics isn't very well defined. At the risk of commiting blasphemy, I like the 4E approach to this issue: two separate skills, Acrobatics for Dex-based stunts (Balance, Escape Artist, Tumble), and Athletics for Str-based ones (Climb, Jump, Swim). It is more rational, and solves the problem of jumping with Dexterity, which is really hard to imagine.
