I had considered at one point bringing Skill Focus in line with the Improved [Combat Feats]. Alas, those feats used to be +4, and now they are +2.
So, I considered bumping the Improved [Feats] to +3 to co-exist with Skill Focus.
But then I thought, why not make Skill Focus +4?
I'm considering two factors here.
1. Improved [Feats] are a focus of sorts. So, bringing Skill Focus in line with them will provide a much easier foundation to build from in the future.
2. I've been wanting to do away with the +2/+2 feats. The benefit of taking a +2/+2 feat just isn't fairly matched with a +3 skill focus. I think people are much more inclined to go the +2/+2 route simply because +1 isn't all that much, and you are getting more bang for your buck overall. So, whether +2/+2 goes away or not, +4 would make it more balanced in comparison. (Someone mentioned that the +2 and a +3 Skill Focus stacks, but I don't think it does. Could someone point me to the rules that say it does?)
Of course, in thinking +4, I got to thinking, why not +5. That would be a definite asset for taking on a special feat - be it an Improved [Feat] or Skill Focus. But is this too much?
In the end, I don't like seeing +4 in the Improved Feats being knocked down to +2. And I like seeing the Improved Feats and Skill Focus being consistent. So, either +3 (current skill focus) or +4 (original Improved bonus applied to both.)
Thoughts?

Unnamed bonuses stack. It's under Stacking. Where that is, what page number, you'll have to find it yourself, I'm tried of looking up rules and page numbers for people.
