Alpha 3 appears to use "enchantment" to mean a spell from the school, or any spell, or any magical ability, with no apparent rhyme or reason to the usage. A mindless magical item can now be "enchanted," for example, despite the fact that Enchantment spells are mind-affecting.
"Enchantment" should refer ONLY to the school of magic with that name.
"Imbue" could be used for creating magic items.
"Enspell" could be used for casting a spell on something.
PLEASE clarify the terminology, as 3e attempted to do. Using "enchant" for all of the above usages, and others, seems sloppy and careless, and is certainly needlessly confusing.
