Too Many Skills... And Yet, Not Enough...

Liberty's Edge

It's taken me a while, but I think I finally understand why Paizo has limited its skill condensings. My problem is that I was hoping that Pathfinder would pave the way for skills that are not included.

1. Investigate. (This goes beyond search. I am looking to d20 Modern's Research and Investigation skills. Of course, I think Search would fit under an Investigate skill, too.)

2. Knowledge. There are some lacking skills: sciences? tactics? technology?

3. Pilot. Steering a wagon or a boat require some wort of skill check.

4. Psicraft? It is OGL.

5. Treat Injury. Yes, we have heal. I can't grasp the wisodm-base of it. It seems to me that someone needs to be trained to heal someone. Treat Injury comes from d20 Modern and is Int-based. (I guess Heal could simply be converted to Int, too.)

Disclaimer. D20 Modern. Yes, I admit, I got a thinking problem. It is always on my mind. Still, I don't see it a far cry to expand the skills of D&D to a whole new level that allows for entirely new possibilities of game play.

What about just having many of the Knoweldges turned into straight-up skills.

A 'Tactics' skill would be very cool.

I actually like this idea.

Arcana
Engineering
Psicraft
Tactics

That's what Star Wars Saga did. At this point, I'm wrestling between a list of what I deem to be appropriately condensed skills and trying to come to terms with what Paizo's done. I'm not being very successful.

Knowledge (Warfare)

Someone also suggested a skill called Streetsmarts in another thread as an urban Survival equivalent.

The Knowlede (Warfare) suggestion to my idea about a Tactics skill obviously means you didn't get the point of me saying 'Turn Knowledge Skills into actual skills with unique entries' :P
