Stilgar |

Rix looks down into the hole. "Huh. That's interesting."
For a brief second, she seems to be weighing something in her head, then she shrugs. "Ah, what the hell!" And with a grin, she draws a sap from her belt and drops down into the hole.

Burrloft Folldorall |

Now he gets a bonus to AC for size!
Yes, but his weapon will do less damage and he'll have less of a strength bonus. Plus, Burrloft thinks it's an appropriate counter to his bully-like attitude. The gnome yard-stick doesn't always measure the same way that of the bigger races does. I could have cast color spray and tried to knock him out, but where is the poetry in that with such a bustery individual?

Mythril DM |

The cabin and cargo hold erupt in chaos as the battle begins. Stilgar rushes out of his cell and swings at the dwarf striking him solidly in the head with the broken manacle and chain, despite Leili’s warning. The dwarf retaliates with a strike of his own (Attack Roll (1d20+3=8) but his hammer swings high and he misses. The slender elf, Rix, easily slips through the small hole in the floor and lands behind the half-orc creating a flanking situation with the captain. Behind the dwarf a swirl of golden energy forms and then vanishes leaving a Celestial Badger in its place {creates a flanking situation with Stilgar}. The summoned creature lashes out at the dwarf with its claws Attack Roll (1d20+4=7, 1d20+4=13). One of the claws leaves a nasty tear in the back of the captain’s leathers and he curses in pain Damage (1d2-1=1). Arcane energy blasts from Burrloft’s ring and swarms over the Dwarven captain. His body trembles as it fights off the effects of the spell FOR save (1d20+2=16)**. Gerr, lying underfoot of the battle is stepped on repeatedly causing no damage and waking him from the induced state of sleeping. In the corner of the upper cabin the family is huddled, obviously panic stricken but what has just transpired. The infant begins to wail a high pitched cry.
**The DC you calculated is for an attempt for you to cast the spell if you are not wearing the ring. The actual DC would be 10+spell level+your CHR bonus= 13.
My bi-weekly posts will now be for each combat round, please roll Initiative if you haven’t already.
Thanks everyone for making this so much fun. This is in no way going the way I expected and it is sure a challenge to figure out how this is going to play out.

Gerr Herricksen |

Gerr rises to his feet, shakes his head to clear it and takes a moment to study the melee. Seeing the half-orc attacked by the elf and the dwarf, he unslings his sap and moves behind the elf. He attacks her: 1d20 3=12, 1d6 2=7 I didn't include any flanking bonus, because I can't remember what it is... Sorry!

Flanking gives a +2 to attack rolls. Thant makes your attack roll a 14. Right now the badger and Stilgar get the bonus to attak the captain. The captian and Rix get the bounus to attack Stilgar, and Gerr and Stilgar get the bonus to attack Rix.

This is going to be a very messy fight.

Rix |

I haven't attacked anybody yet!
Raising her sap to club the half-orc into unconsciousness, Rix is surprised by the heavy blow on the back of her own head. "What the-!?"
Rix whirls around to see a man behind her with a sap of his own. She puts a hand to her head and reaches out to grab the man for support as she stumbles, her head spinning.
"Whoa, that wasn't a good idea..."
And neither was jumping down here, girl!
Suddenly deciding that the hold is not the best place to be right now, she jumps up, hoping to catch the edge of the hole and pull herself back up to the deck above.
Acrobatics (high jump) (1d20+7=16)
Probably not. One ignominious fall, coming up!

Mythril DM |

Burrloft initiative = 4
Go ahead and state your action as well. I will then sort out what everyone does based on the Int rolls with my next DM post.

Mythril DM |

If the elf gets out the way, Gerr lets her go, making no further attacks against her. Instead he'll step forward and attempt to sap the captain into submission.
Be sure to include attack rolls with your post, go ahead an roll damage as well so that if it is a hit we dont have to wait on a follow up post. Thanks

Yar Barkman |

Yar glances through the hole and tries to find another way down. He attempts to blast him with an icicle knowing that if he injures him too badly he can tie him up and heal him for answers!
Ranged touch (Point Blank and Precise shot) (1d20 3=23)
Hmm. I thought it was a really good shot for a minute there.Critical Confirm roll (1d20 3=6)
He will rush to calm the horses as soon as the battle is complete
(PS: I believe the summoned badger also gets a bite attack?)

Leili Tamiirah |

Leili kneels on the floor and watches the mayhem below with a frown on her face, looking utterly perplexed as her confusion grows by the second. Holding tightly onto her axe she gives a snarl of anger "All of you stop it! Now! Or I swear I will end you all!" She yells, unsure as to who she's supposed to hit she settles for threatening everyone for having the nerve to confuse her so much.

Burrloft Folldorall |

Burrloft frowns as his original spell fails to take hold and lets out a huffy breath. "Fine! Well, I'm of the supposition that a more pugnatiously direct tack would be more effectatious. Not my preferred idiom, but I'll try to make it suffice." Tracing a mystical sigil in the air with his left hand he punches with his right. "Spectriaxium vi'contas cusiffisal!"
Unfortunately, the blow is off the mark and a swish of air occurrs about a foot over the dwarf's head. Attack roll (1d20+1=9)

COMBAT ROUND 1
Order of Inititive:
Captain Stonewave
The dwarf moves to his side getting out of the center of his front and rear attackers and yells, ”Enough! The ship has set it sails, you’ve got nowhere to go and me crew will get the best of ya in the end." Ends flanking situation
Leili shouts, "All of you stop it! Now! Or I swear I will end you all!"
Gerr swings his sap down hard but comes up short of the dwarfs bobbing head. (you rolled twice since the last DM post so I took the first set of rolls that you left the flanking bonus off of. I did adjust for the flanking)
Stilgar glares menacingly at the dwarf and then the elf unsure of who to attack.
A blast of cold from Yar’s hand hits the dwarf square in the face leaving his beard sprinkled with frost.
The badger leaps to attack Claw attacks (1d20+4=11, 1d20+4=20) one claw strikes true again for 1 point of damage. Claw damage (1d2-1=0) A snap of its jaws Bite Attack (1d20-1=9) bites down only on air.
Rix leaps back up to the hole and pulls herself through with little trouble. Ends flanking situation
Burrloft’s telekinetic fist fails to effect the dwarf.
Declare your actions for round 2

Rix |

Pulling herself back up to the room above, Rix says to everyone in the cabin, "Do NOT go down there! It's a madhouse!"
Turning to Leili and Yar, she says, "That guy down there said the captain is a slaver. Is that true? Is the half-orc an escaped slave?"
Mythril DM:

Mythril DM |

With the departure of the dwarf, Stilgar ends his rage. He looks to see if the nice man is ok.
The dwarf didn't leave, he just took a sidestep out of the flanking situation. His action was to shout and defend himself. He is still there. If you thought he was gone I am sorry to confuse you and you can reselect your action if you want.

Stilgar |

Stilgar continues his attack on the dwarf.
"Die!"

Burrloft Folldorall |

Burrloft stamps his foot in exasperation at having a second spell go off without any productive result. He looks over to where the guard woman Leili is kneeling and hollering down into the lower level. "So tell me, Madame... are you so willing to truck with those that buy and sell sentient beings like chattel? Doesn't the very act of subjugating a free life, battening it down with chains, gall you to the core? It does me! I cannot countenance those who think that man and woman are just meat for commerce. Can you really declare a life saleable for a bag of coin?"

Yar Barkman |

Yar, expecting he is probably on the right side, grasps his holy symbol in one hand while pointing his other at the sinister Dwarf. He then channels the power of Gozreh, to allow him to shoot an icicle from his finger at the enemy.
Ranged Touch w/ Precise shot (1d20 3=21)
He then looks frantically around for a way to descend and get to his horses.

Leili Tamiirah |

"I have never seen a slave on this vessel" Leili growls out honestly at the elf and gnomes words, her focus not leaving the fight below, her anger at being ignored by so many bubbling to the surface. Securing her axes she confidently leaps through the hole in the floor and takes her place at the captain's side, out of a vague sense of duty and wanting to hear his side of things before the crazy passengers cut him down. "I said; Stop it! This is your last warning!" She snarls out, giving the meddling people one last chance to step back before introducing her axe to them.

Mythril DM |

Combat Round 2
Leili easily drops through the hole and moves beside the Dwarf saying , ”This is your last warning.”
Gerr swings his sap viciously landing it on the dwarfs head knocking the captain to the floor of the cargo hold.
Stilgar’s makeshift flail also lashes brutally across the dwarf’s face spraying blood on the dusty floor.
Gerr and Stilgar can feel the blast of cold from Yar’s chill attack which easily hits the falling captain.
With a mystical pop, the badger vanishes.
Rix stays close to the floor. For Rix:
Burrloft’s conversation is lost to cabin as the woman he was addressing drops into the hole to stand by her captain.
The combat is over
I am on vacation this week so my next post wont be until next Sunday

Gerr Herricksen |

Gerr kneels down to check that the captain is alive. If he's ailing, he'll attempt a heal check to keep him alive. (Heal: 1d20 1=17)
As this goes on, he addresses the barbarian woman, "Peace, warrior. Your captain is a slaver and will be brought to the proper authorities for justice. I have no interest in seeing him murdered; he must be given the justice that he denied so many with his wicked crimes."

Rix |

Rix calls down into the hold:
"You realize the ship has already sailed? The captain is...was...the 'authorities' on board. I'm just pointing out that his crew could consider this a mutiny of some kind."
"I'd also like to point out that I, personally, was not involved in any attacks on the captain or anyone else for that matter. I'm an innocent bystander. Just to make sure we're clear."

Leili Tamiirah |

Leili grips a little more tightly at the handle of her greataxe, her knuckles soon turning white. "Could consider this a mutiny?" She echoes the elf's words in a low growl "It's more than could! I am the least of your worries when the crew finds out! Besides what makes you so certain the the captain is a slaver perhaps this" She waves her free hand in the halforc's direction "Is a criminal he was asked to transport. He only uses the cell if one of us gets out of line or too drunk!" Her words grow in pitch and anger, her wild eyes and haggered breathing showing how hard it is for her to refrain from swinging her axeright now.

Gerr Herricksen |

"If your captain was transporting a prisoner, he'd be furnished with official papers noting the fact, which he could have produced without resorting to using poison on me! Poison is the act of a blackguard, not an honest man."
Gerr takes a moment to use DETECT EVIL on the Captain while he's unconscious.

Gerr Herricksen |

DM:
Gerr bows his head over the dwarf. "Your captain is dead. You have my apologies, I was not intending to slay him, only subdue him. May the Lords of Judgement have mercy on his soul." Gerr arranges the body, washing off any gore or obvious wounds and arranging the body respectfully. He then stands and turns to the female barbarian. "Well, is there a second in command, a first mate? They're in charge now."

Yar Barkman |

Yar now that the battle is over finds a way down to where the horses are. He tries to soothe the beasts, then looks to see if he can help out any of the wounded.
"Does anyone need the touch of Gozreh to soothe their wounds"?
OCC: I'll be on vacation all of next week till June 30, and am not sure about Internet availability, so feel free to run Yar as needed.

Rix |

"The captain's dead, huh? So who is in charge now? I am NOT interested in turning around. I paid good money for this ticket, and I plan on reaching my destination."
Seeing that the half-orc has calmed down some, Rix calls down to him.
Hey half-orc! So were you a slave or just a prisoner? What's the deal?"

FOR LEILI:

Leili Tamiirah |

Leili lets out a loud growl at all present, obviously very close to snapping, hefting her greataxe she glares at all present, especially the suspicious half-orc before turning to leave the hold. "I'll go stop the crew from rioting" She snaps angrily at the group, uncomfortably close to the red mist of a fullon rage at their actions.
