Morning everybody. It's 9:50 AM right now in germany and I would like to share some ideas about skills right now:
Feel free two vote or discuss about them like always:
- Consider making the class bonus +5. While this would provide some extra oomph, it would help the distinction between class- and cc-skills.
- Consider REDUCING the number of class skills to the absolute minimum. Since cc-skills only differ for a "little" bonus, there is no need to give every class a whole bunch of class skills (like Bard and acrobatics/athletics, or all those craft/profession stuff f.e.)
- Let you choose an additional class skill at 1st level for every INT-bonus
- Pull concentration out of spellcraft and merge it with autohypnosis and similar stuff into a new skill called Self-control or Discipline
- Put Use Rope back into Sleigh of Hand (maybe renaming it to Legerdemain - though many don't like it I think)
- Add a new use to Linguisitics similar to what Decipher script is for written languages but instead for spoken/heard ones (two Drow guards "chat" while the rogue evesdropes on them. Roll a linguistics check to see if you understand some of what they say...)
- Merge Bluff and Disguise into Decepetion. Think about putting Forgery into it too.
- Pull Jump out of Acrobatics. Think about merging Climb, Jump, Swim and a new run/endurance skill into Athletics.
- If no skill merging will be made: Change the Climb and Fly skills in the Acrobatic (= Acrobatics & Fly) and Athletic (= Climb & Swim) feats!
- Consider increasing Skill Focus to +4 and only allow it for class skills
- Make a feat (called "Skilled" or something), that grants an extra skill point per level (retroactive ofcourse)
- Make or alter a feat that let's you add additional class skills to your list (Maybe those +2/+2 feats)
