Anyone got some unused 3.5 core books they'd like to unload?

Hey gang! I need a favor, if any of y'all can help out. My buddy in New Jersey has introduced his son (now 14) to D&D via his old ADD stuff, and they're digging it hard core (and yes, I have introduced them to the wonder that IS paizo.com..) However, they want to start a new campaign in 3.5, but the family is flat broke and for whatever reason the kid's having trouble finding cheap 3.5 core books out there.

I'm wondering if any of you have spare unused 3.5 core books lying around you might be willing to throw in to send to these kids, so we can get them hooked properly. I have one spare PHB here, but that's all I have to offer; if any of you have unused core books that you don't want any more, could you please drop me a line at phil@lacefield.com and let me know? I'd much appreciate it!

Thanks - Phil

Good to see you around again. The good news is that if you have a PHB, you’re not missing much (the only exception I can think of atm is the player wealth by level chart) that isn’t in the SRD. Not sure if they have a computer, but if they do you could snag a copy of Andargor’s single file SRD (it’s a windows help file, slick as all get out). Coupled with the free adventures for 3.5 from the WoTC site (assuming they are still hosting them) you are good to go for quite a while.

Sans computer, it would be tougher, so I’ll see what I have at home in the pile after work and a visit to the oncologist.

if they have a computer download limewire and just done load the books

You know that's illegal, yes?

If it's at all helpful, I've got a PHB II and a copy of Complete Adventurer that I'd be happy to add to their collection.

Looked real quick before work but didn't see any duplicates of the core 3.5 books, though I do have a complete printout of the 3.5 psionics SRD in a 3-ring binder (before I purchased the XPH), hah!

I know but its the only way I can get ahold of some of the older books. You can also purchase pdf versions of the books from rpgshop.com at much lower prices than buy them as actual books.

Scarab Sages

I know it's not really what you're after, but there is also a really (really!) good online SRD available at http://srd.plush.org. At the very least, they could be looking over the classes, races, feats, skills, spells, and so forth while they wait to get the actual books.

If they need "dead tree" versions of adventures (my preference as well), Free RPG day is coming up quick!
