Disarm
You can attempt to disarm your opponent as part of an attack action in place of a melee attack. If you do not have the Improved Disarm feat or a similar ability, attempting to disarm a foe provokes an attack of opportunity from the target of your maneuver. Attempting to disarm a foe while unarmed, when using a light or a natural weapon imposes a –4 penalty on the attack. The wielder of a two-handed weapon on a disarm attempt gets a +4 bonus on the attack. (1)
If your attack is successful, your target drops one item it is carrying (of your choice). If your attack exceeds the DC of the maneuver(2) by 10 or more, the target drops the items it is carrying in both hands (maximum two items if the target has more than two hands). If your attack fails by 10 or more, you drop the weapon that you were using to attempt the disarm. If you successfully disarm your opponent without using a weapon, you automatically pick up the item dropped.
Improved Disarm
You are skilled at knocking weapons and other items out of your opponents' grasp.(3)
Prerequisite: Int 13, BAB +1.(4)
Benefit: You do not provoke an attack of opportunity when performing a disarm combat maneuver. In addition, you receive a +2 bonus on checks made to disarm a foe. When you are targeted by a disarm attempt, the DC of the maneuver is increased by 2.(5)
Normal: You provoke an attack of opportunity when performing a disarm combat maneuver.
Justification
(1) Readded the bonus and penalty for light, natural and normal weapons from 3.5.
(2) "DC of the target" is confusing.
(3) Added "items" to cover wands, detonators and these pesky vials with mysterious substances.
(4) Combat Expertise is gone as a prerequisite, but some measure of fighting prowess should be necessary to qualify.
(5) I'm assuming that if you are better at disarming, you are also better at resisting being disarmed.
