According to the description of the Acrobatics skill (pp. 38-39), Tumble seems to have been folded into that skill. However, table 5-3 does not mention it.
Acrobatics p. 39
“…as well as soften your fall.” What does this mean? There is no other explanation in the skill description that refers to softening your fall. Under the SRD, there was a description of Jumping down in the Jump skill, which removed 10 feet of fall damage. Since Acrobatics replaces Jump, it should mention this, if this is the method of softening fall. If not, the mechanics should be made explicit. Furthermore, the only mention of high jump underlines that a doubling of the DC is in order if the jump is not preceded by a 10 feet move. Does this also apply to attempts to soften falls?

“Special: If you are proficient in the Acrobatic skill…” No matter what amount of ranks in Acrobatics you gain the stated bonuses? It is my understanding that with such a wording, a 1st level rogue almost automatically gains the increase bonus. Was this the intent?

Yeah, this was the case in Alpha 1 as well. Hopefully it gets added in some time.

Yeah, I hope this is an oversight as well. I have the feeling that in the compressing of skills and copying of text from the SRD, some things were unintentionally emitted.

This used to be a special feature of Tumble in 3.5. So, yeah, anyone who has ranks in Acrobatics gains this, I would presume.
