What's the punctuation rule about ending a sentence with an acronym? Anyone?
I can't believe you stopped to add all those periods - I mean WE all know SHIELD is an acronym. When do you put periods in FBI or CIA?
And my understanding is that you only use ONE period at the end of a sentence where the last word is an acronym. I teach that in class, so now I'm naturally waiting for my betters to come tell me I'm wrong.

My experience is that a master's candidate in English lit. isn't necessarily an authority on grammar. For example, master's shouldn't be capitalized and it should have an apostrophe.
