Paizo = extortion

Lost Omens Campaign Setting General Discussion

...by putting out stuff like Classic Monsters Revisited.

I had no choice but to buy it and go over my gaming budget.

This will not be forgotten... I feel abused!

LOL ...

I know what you mean. I thought with 4E that I would have oodles of extra cash because I would have no more D&D books to buy. And then Paizo does this. The nerve of them to put out top-notch quality game books and make me spend my hard slaved for cash. :-)

Agreed, but I'm going to do something about it. I'm going to talk about Bloodcove and show my game group the picture of Brimstone Falls from W2: River into Darkness. Then I'll tell then I can't run it. One or more them will have to buy it!

...misery loves company if "misery" means spending money and "company" means Paizo.

I hear that! I'm in college, I go hungry to buy this stuff!

Sovereign Court

We are all being affected by dark magic.. Paizo has made a deal with a Runelord! We must have everything Paizo creates, yes we must... my precious!!

We're the victims here. We need a support group.

I'll bring the punch.

OOh-pie!

I suggest the first support group meets and b@$%*es about why the planet stories books aren't free...

what kind of pie we talkin bout here?

well, i havent been spending my lunch money on paizo stuff, but i do like support groups.

i will design a t-shirt. black, with a paizonian goblin on the front, and our pay checks on the back.

I'm glad we could all come together during a time of crisis, and a shared need for healing, pie and black t-shirts.

Liberty's Edge

Is there room for divorced men... Cuz once my wife sees what Paizo extorted from me this month I will be out on my backside... DAMN YOU TO HELL, PAIZO....

"Hi my name is Bob and I spent my rent at Paizo."

Liberty's Edge

"Hello, Bob."

"I'm bankrupt, divorced, my two grown kids won't return my calls."

"Go ahead, Cornelius. You can cry."

Liberty's Edge

Cornelius, can I borrow your Rise of the Kobold King?

Screw punch and cookies. Bring dice, pencils, and character sheets!

Oooo...we can run Orc & Pie and the winner gets...a pie!

...I can't get an Orc?

This self-help group stinks. I'll make my own group. With black jack! And hookers! In fact, forget about the group.

A support group with gambling and sex addiction abound? Seems somehow... against the grain.

I complained somewhere else about the cost of an electronic subscription ($10.99 USD) for some other upcoming game (I feel subscribing would be mandatory if I were to get into it) (which I won't) and now I'm subscribing for how much? At least I get awesome material with excellent presentation so I feel my money is well spent.

/Pie for KaeYoss for the Bender quote :)

i think it would be harder to design a t-shirt for a black jack/hooker support group

What would the affirmations even look like?

God grant me... a quarter... one quarter for this slot machine... lady luck is knocking... oh yeah... daddy needs a new coat... actually daddy needs to replenish his kid's college fund because of that quinella misstep... my own fault... I shouldn't have been wearing blue to a dog race...

Its for people who can't help but abstain from worldly pleasures.

So it's a self-help group for those generating one or more sins to power the Runewells? Like casting a spell to remove the energies into the Runewell without the host needing to go through that inconvenient ritual sacrifice or dying phase?

Nice Futurama reference. ;-)

Yes.

I remember (past tense obviously) the money my wife and I thought we'd save after 4th edition hit. But that's OK.

Instead of a bunch of different places now my gaming budget all goes in one place. And it's a happy place with smiles not grimaces, so that's comforting. I hear there's cookies, too.

We're different. You should see how many people apply, though.

That's the blackjack part - assuming, of course, Lady Luck is knocking for the gambling part.

They're beyond help, actually ;-P

What about those of us who can't help but obstain from other-worldly pleasures?

Oh and for cookies...What the hell are those girlscout ones with the coconut? Whatever they are, please bring them. Those boxes of cookies are almost as expensive as the books, and I'm running out of room in my garage for dead-girlscout storage. I might either start having to pay for them or re-organize the garage (and screw that).

So you'd like Samoa?

Caramel deLites (Samoas): Vanilla cookies coated in caramel, sprinkled with toasted coconut and laced with chocolate strips.

2nd most popular seller after my own favorite, the Thin Mints.

I was all geared up to have a complete 4e collection. I was going to pick up everything they came out with. Then I played 4e, and now I am second guessing ever giving WotC a dime again. I would much more gladly support a thriving creative community like Paizo and spend the same amount of money (maybe even a little bit more) on higher quality, more fun product from people who listen to their customers. So I figure I'm going to come out of it pretty much even with where I anticipated, but my net gain will be sooooo much more.
