I would have said that she had to close down unexpectedly for weeks while crafting a new one, but it doesn't have the feel or power that her old, heirloom one had. This explains why she wasn't around latly if players have also asked around about her.

told a curious player that the cards were 'a mere shadow'

which I thought was a pretty cool, classic fortune teller style way of dealing with it with double (or even triple depending on how you look at it) meaning.

Yup, as mentioned in that other thread... this is a place where the PCs can start to get the idea that Zellara is more than she claims. The best answer for this is to have Zellara panic subtly for a second, then say, "This is a new deck I bought; had to sell all my furniture to afford it. I still want my old deck back. You want your fortunes told or what?"
