RotRL in Eberron

Rise of the Runelords

Dark Archive

Just picked up 1,4,5, and 6. Picked up 2 and 3 earlier in the year. Interestingly, bought both from Game Empire though different stores.

Any advice how to incorporate the AP into Eberron? I'm thinking of making the Runelord into one of the Lords of Dust.

The Exchange

I think I read on these boards somewhere that they had Karzoug as a giant lord from the Age of Giants, and set most of it in Xendrik.

Thanks! I'll do a search.

That was my thinking as well. Make Varisia a recently settled area of Xendrik, either far away from the areas around Stormreach or replacing them. The Shaonti barbarians could be elves instead of humans. Make all the rune lords giants.

I skimmed the AP. Good stuff.

Regarding location in Eberron. Right now I'm thinking of placing the adventure on Khorvaire. Thinking of placing the fallen empire (whose name escapes me right now since I don't have the books in front of me!) around Breland with the runelord entombed deep under the city of Sharn. PCs are going to be a on merry chase all over the continent (and beyond!) until the end where all the clues point to their hometown. (Sandpoint's nice but it's just going to be a reststop).

The Exchange

I'm planning an Eberron-Conversion as well. Former ideas ranged from placing the AP in Qbarra to placing it in Xen'drik. But in the meantim, I'm following another plan: I'll probably replace Karzoug by Mordain Fleshweaver who is arguably the most potent non-dragon wizard in Eberron, has Connections to the Daelkyr (Leng) and, what's best, is described as a transmuter which makes him a natural fit.

I'm considering replacing Sandpoint by Ardev , Magnimar by Sharn, Fort Rannick by Orcbone/or Drum Keep, Xin-Shalast could be placed in the Blackcaps (or the Graywall Mountains). I'm also thinking about replacing Turtleback Ferry by the Town of Xandrar at the shore between the Silver Lake and Lake Galifar.

There's still a lot to think about but I could easily see the Fleshweaver weaving a plot to create a war between Breland and Droaam to further his own sinister interests. The location near Droaam and Mordain being the BBEG explains all those creepy new Paizo monsters very well. So I'll see how far this goes, but it feels right at the moment.

Wow. Nice.
