I know it is still in alpha but is there any plan's to have a computer program like RPGexplorer have Data sets to make it easier to generate characters? I know you can key it in yourself but makes it alot easier if you can have the option to buy the dataset and use it sorta like etools was with code monkey. I know etools was not perfect but it did make it alot easier creating characters

We have been approached by a number of the DM program companies, and I expect that a Pathfinder RPG dataset is almost assured. Stay tuned!

I would love to see something like what Wizards was doing with their Character Builder. For the brief moment I played 4e before discovering (and getting hooked on) Pathfinder I really liked the Character Builder.
I think what I liked best is that it was provided by the publisher so I felt more comfortable that the information was accurate and it was doing the calculations correctly when I leveled etc.
That tool was very polished and worked great.

I REALLY wish Paizo had something like this for sale or even a web app for building and maintaining characters.

And if you are willing to pay, Hero Labs rocks.

I would never ever want to see a generator like what WotC has for 4E. There are numerous problems associated with it (Yes I am a subscriber at the moment for it as I run 4E during the week with D&D encounters at the local FLGS).
Personally, I prefer a non-subscription based generator. I do not like being told if I want to do something "right and correct" I NEED to subscribe to a service for a month to month based payment schedule.
I enjoy Hero Labs as it is MORE then a character generator, but also a tool for Gming as well. I can also add to it as I see fit and can either do it for the initial cost of the program and add all the added supplements myself OR I can purchase the added supplements from Lone Wolf and save myself some time. Or just run it with the core rules and such.
I think it would be a HUGE mistake to have Paizo make a Subscription based generator and I for one would NOT buy in to it and would speak loudly out against it.
