Pre-Order questions

Customer Service

When I pre-order (like for Pathfinder RPG) ;
* When exactly am I getting charged.
* Will this amount change (we are talking almost a year here)?
* What if I want to add another book (say for my DM) later on, do I need to make a whole 'nother order or modify my standing one?
* How will I be notified when it is shipped? (e-mail I'm guessing)

1)You get charged when the shipping label is printed - you get a credit authorization 2 days before (or so)

2) not sure - i doubt it though

3)you most likly would have to make another order, but you could call customer service and they can combine the two orders to ship together

4)You will be notified by email when it is ready to ship (2 days before the shipping label is printed, also when the authorization happens) and again when the cahrge happens and it ships

Cpt_kirstov is *mostly* right.

1) You do get charged only when the label is printed, but we only do authorizations ahead of time when we're shipping subscriptions. (Then again, this may be a big enough product run that we'll want to use the subscription process even though it's not a subscription, but we won't decide that for a while.)

2) We record the price at purchase time, and charge you that. (Given that we *know* postage will be going up later this year, that means it'll likely cost you less to ship it if you order while the current rates are in effect.)

3) You could indeed do as Cpt_kirstov suggests.

4) You'll be notified by e-mail as it ships.

Since it doesn't charge until the shipping label prints:
My card expires before the Pathfinder is likely ready to ship. Can I still pre=order?

Yes!

When you get the new card/exp date, just send me an email with the changes and your order number to customer.service@paizo.com. I'll make whatever changes you need (this includes adding products to the order if you wish).

Alternatively (or if you forget to send the email), whenever we encounter a problem with a payment method when we go to ship an order, the system sends an automated email to the associated email address that contains links you can use to fix the problem yourself.

Thanks,
cos

Thank you! =)
