I didn't think much of it either.
I suspect they thought it would mke a good way to explain why the tiefling was a new core rules race and that the gnome was now in the monster manual unfortunately I guess they thought the beholder clip that preceded this one was successful enough to bring this one to light.
Me I'd rather they try and make a new d&d cartoon series even an occasional clip introducing the new 4e using new iconic characters seeing them in mid-adventure or even at the start of one showing how 4e would be the new game to play instead of a series of supposeduly comical sketches.
Knights of the Dinner Table did a fine audio and limited cartoon sketch, I'd even like to see an Order of the Stick version one day but I'd expect better from D&D.
Even the intro to d&d and its "french" narrator was better than those two sketches though...
