As the subject indicates, I'm a little confused about the various shipping options.
I've been an early adopter of both Pathfinder and GameMastery subscriptions. Originally I had selected the option to have my GM modules held to ship with Pathfinder. At some point in the fall, due to some delay in the printing schedule, I had a few items ship that shipped separately.
At that point, the "hold items for one monthly shipment" option appeared so I switched to that. However I still find things are shipping out separately. I received GM module Crucible of Chaos sometime last week and then Pathfinder Vol. 7 this weekend.
Why aren't things shipping once a month? I'm not clear on whether or not I should switch back to the first option. My top priority is not to waste money on multiple shipping charges, though given the choice I would rather have Pathfinder given priority over GM modules. So in an ideal world, there would be one monthly shipment, and it would happen whenever the new Pathfinder was ready.
Finally, I will probably purchase quite a few of the Pathfinders Chronicles line but maybe not every one, and considering the price differences between various items in the line, I would prefer not to subscribe and have everything shipped right away. Is it possible to hold non-subscription items held to ship when the next subscription item ships? Presently the added cost of shipping items separately is holding me up from placing orders, and unfortunately, I have yet to see any of the Chronicles line appear in local game stores.
I hope I'm not coming off as too demanding here, it just seems like these subscriptions options aren't working as smoothly as they could.

I can definitely see where this would get confusing! I'll try to break things down in a (hopefully) helpful manner.
If you set your account to hold for the Pathfinder (Formerly GameMastery) Modules, that means that your priority is for those modules. If, say, a module comes in before Pathfinder, it will ship alone and that volume of Pathfinder should hold until the next module comes in.
In the case of the monthly shipments, this changes. You don't have any one product set as a priority, and simply want everything that we have ready to go that month shipped together. While this does usually mean the order ships later in the month chock full of subscription goodies, it can also mean that due to our supply delays, you get one item at the end of one month, and then all of the late product in an early shipment next month. This is what happened with Pathfinder #7. While we are trying to avoid this from happening, there is a bit of leeway for when shipments from our printer in China are delayed.
If you decided that you wanted things to wait for Pathfinder, this would mean that in instances such as the one with J3 and Pathfinder #7, the two would have shipped together. However, it could also mean that in the future, if a Pathfinder arrives before a module, or a module is delayed in shipping and arrives late, a Pathfinder could ship on its own.
We are aware that our customers are looking for the best possible deal on shipping, and are working to streamline how we receive shipments and set up ship dates for products.
To answer your second concern, we are unfortunately not able to combine regular orders with subscription shipments.

I have a similar question. Where exactly is this option to have things be shipped in a single shippment? I have looked around and can't seem to find it.
Click on the "My Subscriptions" link at the top of the page and the various options are on that page.

That for me at least only list different ways to ship it. Not a option to have products held and shipped all at one time.
You can only hold subscription items at this time, Last we heard Gary was working on allowing non-subscription things to wait for the next subscription shipment.
