Hammurabi takes a 5 foot step away from the hobgoblins and picks up a large handful of sand or street dirt, he then spins around tossing the dust, to see if any settles on the invisible form of the sister, if she has advanced, he will also look for foot steps/listen for an invisible approach.

"Serpent of the rainbow, let me sense the unseen"
Hammurabi is still too concerned to use casting at this point
Rolled a 6 for perception

Sorry..I got the damage and missed the disarmed part. It's good played as is. Indo will continue to use the dagger until the temple sword is no longer threatened.

Unless I cast a spell. We'll see how things shake out next round. : )

Female Human Rogue 2

Move to B9 to setup flank with Indo for next round.

You can only get to C9 with your movement, and that will provoke an AoO from the hobgoblin in C8, unless you want to try to avoid more AoOs. Alternately, you could go to E10, and make your way to B9 this round.

Skittle & Bedu?

Male Gnome Ranger 2

I don't know how high up Tanish is, but if Skittle can reach him, he'll attack.

"Enough!" Skittle yells, and with a growl, he slices his blades at Tanish's lower legs.

Oooo, does that hit? Ten points of damage, again, from the little man with the crazy hair! Or is this where you tell me Tanish is out of reach?

E10 it is.

Considering we're starting round 6, yes! (sorry if I didn't make it clear it's a new round.)

Bedu quickly moves round the back of Hammarubi, scimitar back into scabbard, and down the wall (E7), "Sister, oh Sister I have your precious amulet and your ugly men as useless as you are scared and in hiding. Come dance with me for this. Or shall we go to the door and gain the treasure for ourselves, ha ha ha!"

Bedu readies an action to cast Grease at the woman, when and if she appears. She called him fat, he's sensitive about his weight.

Female Human Rogue 2

Let me know when you need my action. I'm going to kill something :-)

Round 6 (in progress):
Hammurabi casts around for signs of the Cerulean Sister, but is unable to detect her. Skittle leaps up and slashes Tanish's legs with his blades, causing the man to hiss in pain. (Not a confirmed crit, unfortunately.) Bedu moves to the side and taunts the hidden Cerulean Sister.

One of the Legionnaires brings his flail down hard on Indo's head (7 pts of dmg), while the second one sidesteps in front of Indo to get to Bedu. (If he's still conscious, Indo can make an AoO against him.) The Legionnaire whips his flail at Bedu's leg, but is unable to trip the stout dwarf. Tanish turns his own blades against Skittle, striking the gnome with both his rapier and dagger. (7+4=11 pts of dmg total) Skittle slumps to the ground with a groan as Tanish puts his back to the wall.

Liet immediately calls upon the god-kings for aid, sending holy energy through Skittle's body to heal his wounds. (heal 8 pts of dmg, so Skittle is conscious, but prone on the ground) "My friends, I will soon be unable to heal any more of your wounds," Liet says through gritted teeth. "We must finish this quickly."

Indo and Lotus are up to finish out the round.

Sorry for the delay - busy weekend!

As the Legionnaire steps towards Bedu, Indo stabs him with his dagger. A moment later, Lotus moves up behind him and pierces through his armor with her sword. The hobgoblin groans and crumples to the ground.

Indo's up to finish the round.
Hammurabi & Skittle, I'll save your actions for next round.

Male Human Ranger 1 Abjurer 1

Indo turns to finish the legionaire next to him. As he does so, Bedu notices the sizable gash in his left side. The loos of blood appears to affect his swing as he misses the legionaire widely and stumbles a bit.

Indo assumes a defensive posture (just fluff), but seems woozy.

Indo swings at the Legionnaire next to him, but misses him, woozy from lack of blood.

Round 7 (in progress):

Skittle, your last action (throwing the dagger) was for round 7, since you go at the beginning of the round. You'll have to wait for next round to stand up and do more.

Bedu calls upon the last genie princess's harem to heal Indo's wounds as the last Legionnaire turns and faces the warrior, hitting Indo with a glancing blow from his flail. (7 pts of dmg)

"You may think you have won today," the Cerulean Sister calls out to you from the rear of the alley. "But I can assure you, this is not over. The amulet will be mine. You cannot defy the Rani or the Cerulean Sisterhood for long. You cannot deny Demise, and that is just what I will be - YOUR demise."
"Tanish, come!"

Tanish salutes with his rapier and sketches a bow in your direction, then hops off the roof and runs down the alley. Demise's voice addresses the remaining Crimson Legionnaire: "Bring me the amulet if you survive. Your death will be your penalty for failure."

Okay, as much as I hate it, scratch Skittle's last throw.

"Damn," Skittle says as he collapses back to the ground. Looking over at the others, he adds, "Indo! Do you need me to come over their and save your skin? Split 'em in half already!"

Liet draws his mace and moves up to attack the Legionnaire, but his wing goes wide.

Indo and Lotus!

Male Gnome Ranger 2

"I know, Father!" Skittle yells at the sky.

If our beloved, generous, pond-crossing, convention-going DM would care to use Skittle's last throw against the hobogobo, that would be perfectly fine with me. If not, eh, no big deal. I'm sure he won't last long.

Female Human Rogue 2

With Tanish gone, Lotus will move to B7 to flank the hobgoblin with Indo and attack.

MW Short Sword Melee Attack +8 (MW +1, BAB +1, Dex +4, +2 Flank) / Damage 1d6+2 / Critical 19-20/×2 / Piercing Sneak Attack 1d6 (1d20+8=16, 1d6+2=5, 1d6=5)

Lotus hops onto the roof that Tanish just left and comes up armed and dangerous behind the remaining legionaire. From that position she attempts to painfully insert her short short into the flesh of the hobgoblin. If she can't finish him, surely Indo can.

Hammurabi will cast expiditious retreat from his glaive arcane bond and pusue Tanish

Male Human Ranger 1 Abjurer 1

If the legionaire is down:

Spoiler:

Indo turns his head in the direction of the Sister's voice. Barking out a few quick words, his eyes glow an azure blue and he quickly scans the back of the alley-way.

I cast detect magic, and I'd like to use that and a Perception roll to approximate her square. I am not looking to pinpoint her square or identify her aura. I am looking for magic as I look down the alley, and I will head toward that grouping of squares. The bonus to my Perception roll is because she is a favored enemy.

Perception (sound) 1d20+8=22.

If the legionaire is not down:

Spoiler:

Indo steps away from the legionaire, focused on the Cerulean Sister as she taunts his friends.

Same thing, only I cast defensively and then move away from the legionaire if I get a lead on the Sister's location.

href="http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/view/2005140/">DC 15 Spellcraft check to cast defensively. (1d20+7=18)

Lotus moves up behind the last Legionnaire, skewering him before he has the chance to react to his mistress's command (or was it threat?). He silently drops to the ground.

Indo spits out a few arcane words and his blue-glowing eyes scan the rear of the alley, but he can find no traces of magic or anyone left there.

"Get Tanish, we need information!" Bedu yells in frustration.

"The rainbow serpent flies swift Bedu, I shall pursue," Hammurabi responds, casting a spell. He tears off down the alley in pursuit of Tanish, and disappears around the corner.

Hammurabi:

Spoiler:
You catch up to Tanish around the corner (he's off the map, in what would be K-12), but the alley opens onto a busy street just ahead, and he'll run into it this round. It might be difficult to keep track of him in the crowd.

I'm going to step out of combat rounds here (with the possible exception of Hammurabi), unless you want to do something combat-related, in which case Hammurabi just started off round 8. Without enhanced speed (like Hammurabi's expeditious retreat), it's highly unlikely you'll be able to catch either Tanish or the Cerulean Sister.

Female Human Rogue 2

I'll go after him. the rogue calls back to her companions after having finished off the final hobgoblin.
Lotus runs at full speed after Tanish.

"Right, good Hammarubi, Lotus, we will not be staying long so make it quick. That Sister has gone for help and maybe to seal the city."

Is that within their power DM? I would guess so.

Bedu draws out a scroll of healing from his belt and whispers the words of power to Skittle. Barber's healing touch=10pts

Then the dwarf begins to loot the hobgoblins for gold and any clues to their unit or who they were working for. All other valuables disappear quickly. He talks as he works.

"Time is of the essence. They know who we are and what we have done. The authorities will be searching for us as agents against the Rani and the Sisterhood. Tanish can identify us too. We are all outlaws. I intend to take this amulet and the map and find some way to clear my name of wrongdoing. It will mean leaving the city and entering the jungle but that may be a good thing for now."

He gets up again. "Somehow I do not believe that the Sister would have let us live had we handed the amulet over. Had she given me gold then I would have felt different. But no she wanted this key and our future meant nothing."

Bedu palms out of his pocket the amulet for all to see.

He eventually gives up staring at it. "So who is coming? Liet, Indo, Skittle?"

Casting expeditious retreat and moving took up Hammurabi's turn this round (round 8). Tanish will still get his action this round and continue running, into the crowded street beyond the alley.

Hammurabi:

Spoiler:
Unable to quite catch up with him, Hammurabi watches as Tanish darts into the street beyond an alley. He grabs a passing pedestrian and whirls her around in front of him, holding a dagger against the poor woman's throat. "Go back to your friends!" Tanish shouts at Hammurabi. "There is no need to endanger innocent bystanders in this. We will finish our business another day." The woman gasps and whimpers as the blade cuts into her neck.

Hammurabi sees the sight in the street and realises he has no other choice, he looks Tanish in the eyes and then turns around and walks back into the alley back to his companions to warn them they best be getting out of the city and soon. Skittle perks up under Bedu's healing touch, and then his eyes light up and he smiles when he hears mention of the jungle. "Sounds about right to me. I've had enough of this city and it's catacombs anyway. Besides, it's been too long since I carved up some monkey goblins."

Female Human Rogue 2

Coming back with Hammurabi, Lotus is quiet as the others discuss to go into the jungle. Desperation almost overcomes her as she realises she will have to go with the others and leave the city that she grew up in. To come back, we must end the reign of the sisterhood. I have come to see that, and so must the others. A resigning sigh leaves her young mouth.

Can a sister close the city? If so how long do we have and how long would it take us to get to the jungle or nearest gate out of Muiu Thrall? Is there caravans heading into the jungle in the same direction?

"I rely on you all to get us through the jungle. Quickly what do we need to buy? food? drink? trinkets for the monkey goblins? We will have to leave this place today. Now is the time for everyone to have the wisdom of the Sphinx so that we are out of Muiu fast."

What do we find on the hobgoblins DM?

Quickly going through the Crimson Legionnaires' bodies, you find the following: 3 suits of crimson lamellar armor, 3 heavy wooden shields (emblazoned with the Crimson Legion's arms), 3 flails, 3 light crossbows (with about 50 or so bolts), 9 gp, and 24 sp.

While the Cerulean Sisterhood could theoretically close the city (on the Rani's orders), it's not something an individual sister could do immediately. Muiu Thral is a BIG city, so it would take time to mobilize the Crimson Legion to lock down all the gates. It also depends on whether her business woth the amulet was official or personal, which would also affect how much (and how quickly) she could do. Long story short, you probably have time to outfit yourselves properly for a jungle expedition. Of course, the longer you tarry in the city, the higher the risk. It's evening now, you could probably afford to leave tomorrow, but is the barbershop still a safe place to stay the night?

XP (for the Queen with Burning Eyes and her ilk, the reefclaw, and your last challenge): 1175 each (2595 total).
