A coworker of mine swears he remembers seeing it, but neither of us can find it in any of the books we have (other than the 2 & 3.0 Editions). Anyone out there know if there is an updated version for 3.5? Thanks!
where did you find it in 3e .and if u did just use it or change it to fit 3.5. i still used 3e spells.or u could convert it from 2e shouldnt be hard

ok i gave it a shot ya might want to make it 7th level or maybe 6th not sure 8th may be fine

I put glassteal into Races of Faerun to help support the Avariel elves... not sure if it got picked up later in a 3.5 book, but it should still work fine in its 3.0 incarnation.

Yep, that’s the version we’re using now, but he is convinced he came across an updated version, and that it was something of a letdown compared to the original. The search continues!

ok guys all i can find is glassteel under special material p.158 though i do like hardness 20 and 40 hp a level makes it worthwhiles as an 8th level spell. so is this what yall spoke of?
Found it! I managed to spell it incorrectly (steel vs. steal), but regardless, the new version is in Champions of Valor. Thanks all.
There's also a version in the excellent Eldritch Sorcery from Necromancer Games. Along with a bunch of new spells written for that volume (paper tigers, yeah!).
