Rise of the Runelords

Sovereign Court RPG Superstar 2009 Top 32, 2010 Top 8

Spoiler:
Ok, after a near TPK, the party killed Ripnugget, but fell to the rangers. the sole survivor is now a prisoner in Thistletop, and will be joined by the other party members when she wakes up. some questions:

What will happen to goblin dynamics? Who's the chief now?

How will Nualla handle her 'guests'?

If the Sorcerer has been at negatives for a day and is now at 1 HP, is she considered rested to have her spells back?

Liberty's Edge

Without referring to the module, Shalelu referred to several goblin heroes. We've seen most of them (one in the Catacombs of Wrath, and a couple in Thistletop). Hearing that Ripnugget is dead, one of these heroes should 'take over' Thistletop. The Thistletop goblins will be displaced and become the 'least regarded tribe' until they have another strong leader.

Nualia won't care about the goblins switching, but she will demand that they continue to serve her. If there are any problems with that there may be more fighting between the 'bad guys' that can help your PCs.

When your sorcerer has recovered to positive hit points they can regain spells as normal. If they recovered naturally, they should be considered rested. If they recovered due to magical aid, then they might not be.

And just a warning. Your spoiler tag is visible in the thread preview. To avoid that you want to put a couple of lines of text, even if it just explains that the spolier has the information necessary.

Liberty's Edge

Forgot to say - she'll probably try to convince the PC to join her cause. If she thinks that she can convince them that she's in the right. She would likely try to set up some 'test' to determine if the PC is loyal. Something like making it look like there is an easy escape from the fortress by running across the bridge. She'll have some goblins hidden on the far side that will cause the bridge to collapse half way across, allowing the bunyip to deal with the treacherous PC.

Hmm I don't know. For the sake of RP I'd make the sorcerer wait a full day before they regain her spellslots. If spells-per-day is a physical limit then I'd say the body is completely focused on getting to 1hp, not recovering mystical energies.

By the rules, I don't think there's anything against it.

I think that Bruthazmus the bugbear would declare himself in charge of the Thistletop goblins, and I doubt even Gogmurt would even try to gainsay him. You could also have the warchanter (named Gragmar IMC) make a play for power, if you want a goblin in charge instead of a bugbear.

I think Nualia would plan to sacrifice the PCs during her religious festivals, since she likes to use living people for that. The PCs would just be stuffed in the jail cells until then. (This is what I did, at least.)

Ah ha!

Answers that tie into both RP and Rules! I love it.

After receiving 8 hours of rest, Sorcerers/Bards need to spend 15 minutes preparing themselves for the day ahead.

So, if your sorceress just gets up with 1 hp and looks around without preparing for the day, then she's suck waiting for tomorrow. Personally, I wouldn't tell her, I'd wait and see if she does it. :)
