Silver Crusade

My Savage Tide pbp players are up to the Vanderboren Vault & it has the Seeker's 8 point star on the door. Now the Sihedron star is 7 point. Are the two related? As in 'hey we did this for Savage Tide, how's this for Pathfinder?" kinda thing.

just curious

Nope. The Seekers predate the Savage Tide or even Age of Worms. They are, however, sort of evil Pathfinders.

The 8 and 7 pointed stars are not related. If I recall, the Seeker star is the 8 points of a compass, and the Sidhedron is the 7 sins.

were did the seekers come from anyway? what was the first reference to them?

I don't know where they came from, but they are in AoW episode 1.

I think the first mention was in Maure Castle. Eli Tomorast is a member.

A little bit of Wiki research found me the following:

The full name of the Organization is the Seekers of the Arcane, and the first reference to them was in 2001 in the Living Greyhawk Journal. (Note, this is the earliest reference cited by the page I was on. Not necessarily the absolute first instance of the Seekers.)

Paizo developed them to a greater degree, starting with the references in Maure Castle, then AoW and ST.

not to push this off topic, being in Pathfinder, but you say evil, Lavinia' parents were part of them, how is that?

also thanks for the info, I now recall that the Seekers were in the older products, just with the stars & such, I guess I forgot.

I get the impression not every Seeker has to have evil on their alignment slot...The higher ups are probably of the evil alignment, and the organization works toward selfish/low moral goals, but many of the actual members are of the neutral variety, with a decent number of good aligned men and women who are a little oblivious to the grander view.
