Exploring Paradise (Spoilers)

Rise of the Runelords

Sczarni RPG Superstar 2014 Top 16

I remember seeing in another thread that the original plot for Hook Mountain Massacre involved the players going under the lake to explore the sunken gambling barge, Paradise.

It looks like my players are going to attempt this anyway, so I was wondering if the community (or Mr. Logue) had any ideas on how I could make an interesting session out of this. Anyone have ideas for fun encounters? And what sorts of clues should I allow the players to find?

Thanks!

Bump because I'm curious too...

Mermen, or other aquatic humanoids took over and made an underwater den of vice out of it, calling it Paradise Lost To Airbreathers.

Hagfish have moved in, see the PCs as a thread, and start sliming. Characters resurface (eventually) looking like something raped by an aboleth.

Which brings me to that other idea I had.... }>

Kelpies (Tome of Horrors) moved in, luring men who come too close in to come and gamble and frolic around in Paradise.

Dark Archive

Well, there's probably substantial monetary rewards inside a sunken casino. But, folks, lets remeber this is a feshwater mountain lake; merfolk and hagfish seem doubly unlikely. Besides, there's a plethora of mundane aquatic creatures that you can use.

One thing I've discovered is that the MMIII's Spellwarped creature template works very well when applied to giant snakes. the result is a slithering, hissing mage-killer. Plus, the template grants +4 int, giving a sort of Anaconda II feel: "a snake shouldnt be that smart!"

So, there's Gars, giant snappers, and a giant mutant nightbelly boa, all easy to fit into Paradise. Plus, any number of mischevious fey-creatures of varying nastiness, such as the nerid or Kelpie
