Are we going to see Christopher West's cartography in any Adventure Paths?

I hope so, I think his maps are some of the best in the biz. They're always clear, eye-catching, and useful.

His maps also seem to have far far less errors than others I've seen.

He clearly takes great care in his work.

Chris West rocks my map-viewing eyeballs!

One more vote for West in the AP's.

While I think of Christopher West when I think of great cartography, I have been very please with the cartography in Pathfinder to date. I wouldn't be sad to see him in there since he does a great job, but I wouldn't feel bad if he were too busy elsewhere and others who have stepped up to his level keep producing good work.

The talented Mr. West has done the cartography for the GameMastery Modules so far. Great stuff. So far, I am happy with having Chris on GMM's and Rob on Pathfinder.

The current maps in Pathfinder are absolutely excellent, but Chris does rock that's true. Still, it's always good for a company to have more than one person they can rely on to do a certain job.

/agree The maps in PF#5 are so amazing! It would just be nice to see some West in the mix as well.

Thanks very much folks! I'd be happy to do some Pathfinder work for Paizo, just as I've been happy to be able to work on the occasional GameMastery module. They know they can call me any time. :)

That said, Rob's maps in Pathfinder have been impressing me very much, and I won't be upset to see him continue as the Pathfinder cartographer. His encouragement regarding my early work helped to get me started in this business, and he commissioned me for my very first WotC assignment outside of the magazines, back when he was their cartography Art Director. I always look forward to seeing his work, and his maps in Pathfinder (particularly the cities and towns) have been spectacular.

What software do you use in making your maps?

I wouldn't mind knowing this either.

I believe both Chris West and Robert Lazzaretti use Adobe Photoshop (and a little bit of Adobe Illustrator) to create their maps.
