I agree, the media isn't helping her any.
But, it's kind of a chicken and egg problem - they need to leave her alone, but she needs to quit doing things that attract them.
Every other week it seems she's flipping out and doing something crazy.
Fender benders, rehab, shaving her head, beating a photographer's car with an umbrella, public custody spats, refusing to show for depositions, and now a 3 hour standoff with police....yeesh.
The girl just can't stop the crazy.

Of equal importance: the rest of us that have no interest in celebrity nonsense can stop hearing about it. When her life qualifies as news after not even having an album out for several years, there is a problem.
...actually, apparently she just had a new album out.
Other than that, while I loathe Britney I do pity her too and sincerely hope she will, I don't know, go meditate in Tibet for next 30 years.

Hey! If the paparazzi left Britney alone, she wouldn't have her current boyfriend!
Really, she thought one of them was cute and took him home, long criminal record and everything.
Besides, some of us want Britney dead. Just not until after January 9th. Or she won't count for the Ghoul Pool!

The drugs they say
Make us feel so hollow
We love in vain
Narcissistic and so shallow
The cops and queers
To swim you have to swallow
Hate today
Theres no love for tomorrow
Were all stars now in the dope show
Theres a lot of pretty, pretty ones
That want to get you high
But all the pretty, pretty ones
Will leave you low
And blow your mind
They love you when youre on all the covers
When youre not then they love another
The drugs they say
Are made in california
We love your face
Wed really like to sell you
The cops and queers
Make good-looking models
I hate today
Who will I wake up with tomorrow?
Theres a lot of pretty, pretty ones
That want to get you high
But all the pretty, pretty ones
Will leave you low
And blow your mind
They love you when youre on all the covers
When youre not then they love another
Were all stars now in the dope show

Honestly, if a gob of reporters followed ME around 24/7 at that age, good golly Ms. Molly.
There's multiple representations of me, of who I am, to coworkers, to my family, to the public, and/or to my cronies back in the day.
If somebody followed ME around in crony mode, and made that my public representation mode, I'd be in trouble. A lot of us would be in trouble. I think THAT kind of thing can lead to neuroses.

I'm sure that the media would stop printing it if their pollsters told them that people were no longer interested in buying it.
Until then, since Britney (or substitute any other celebrity name of your choice) sells copy, they're going to keep on following her- especially if she keeps doing things that can be 'spun' as being remotely illegal, sensational, or otherwise out of the ordinary.
It is remarkable that more celebrities do not crack under the constant pressure, and that tragic examples such as Britney Spears and Amy Winehouse seem to be exceptions rather than the rule.

This is probably old news for most of you but relative to the post. Craig Ferguson.
Who is buying the stuff I have to wonder. Paparazzi do it because they can make money, but who really cares enoughs to spend money on it?

That man is too good for television.
