Paizo PBP - Logos's Shadows of Sharn - Recruitment and Retaining Thread

Hey Everybody,

I've been running a sort of dark/morbid Sharn set in an alternate Eberron Timeline where the mourning didn't stop. We started with 6 players and are now down to 4 from drop outs. We're looking for fresh meat and fresh ideas.

If your looking for a fairly fast posting Play by Post that is not an adventure path or published module

and

Are interested in something a little more creepy/spooky/interesting than your standard DnD

and

Can post on average once a Day

edit: Character creation will be handled on a case by case basis, no point buy and low level (Althought the game is meant to go quickly up higher, and I like the levels)

we'll arctis it looks like you and manpig are the lucky interested ones.

Take a look at the IC thread and kind of get a feel for what you wanna play (and how you wanna play it )and then consider the following

Do you want to start play undead? (ala Necrogenisis)
Do you want to start play aligned (Ie with a dragonmark or as a former member of the guard, or as a close member of a church aka cleric)

once you've done that you can set up a second level character (Presuming you run a PHB core character that is dragonmarked, or divine caster), roll 4d6(do not drop lowest) for stats (only once but can be rearranged).

once you let me know what you wanna play a bit more we can get working on getting you intergrated

Shiny. Hmm, what is the party lacking? I'd really like to play my rogue/fighter but I'm okay with playing a cleric or a paladin too or even an arcanist of some type. Are flaws from Unearthed Arcana allowed?

the party is preety good on the caster front (two sorcs, an archivist and a druid) but a cleric is good at everything etc.

I suggest you play what you enjoy.

Hello, Arctaris. I'm playing Lucienne of Woodhelm, one of the characters in the campaign, and Ican tell you what Logos told us:

Allowed books: PHB, DMG, Eberron Core Setting Book, Heroes of Horror, several issues of DRAGON. I don't believe that Logos mentioned anything about the flaws, or anything else, from Unearthed Arcana being legal.

Right now we have a half-orc druid, an archivist (from Heroes of Horror), and two human sorcerers. If the party had a fighter, or a rogue, or a couple of fighter / rogues, that wouldn't be a hopelessly bad idea. The two PC's who've bowed out were a rogue and a shifter scout / ranger.

We probably don't need another arcanist, but this is a campaign Logos has designed himself, so we don't need to worry as much about party balance.

Paladins might be problematic. Our characters are right now hovering around chaotic good (kind of like the Merrie Men, but with more zombies).

The party has run across an unholy machine that live people go into, and come out free-willed but otherwise zombie-like undead. So, if you're looking to play something different, check "yes" under "Necrogenesis?"

And feel free to stick a cunning vampire lord into your character's backstory. It seems to be the fashion.

So all of the remaining characters are casters? I'll play my Fighter/Rogue. I'll get her statted up, posted and I'll read through the campaign so far hopefully by tomarrow night. I've been looking for a good horror campaing and this looks like it fits the bill. Are we sing the taint mechanism in HoH?

That's fine. I decided I shouldn't join, anyways. This is a very interesting PbP and I've been watching it right from the beginning. I've also watched the characters back stories. That's why I really shouldn't play. However, I will continue to watch it, 'cause it's among my favorites in the ones I'm watching. And a new character is always fun to watch.

That's our assumption, as well. We miss him, but JSL's moved on to other things.

I'm in a PbP that JSL is running and he hasn't posted much recently there either. I think it's probably the usual Christmas rush.

two weeks without anyword at all, is a little extreme in my book.

but the basics

books allowed as listed above, dragon/drungeon stuff is fine as long as it is cited

score roll 4d6 6 times rearrange

start as second level characters@ minimum xp unless you play undead if your interested let me know.

500gp for kit from Core/ECS only

No Taint, especially not from HoH I may end up using the original Unearthed Arcana taint but not at this moment (so take taint feats at own peril)

No Flaws, or the like.
