Hey Mr. French,
Just to let you know, school is ending, but that doesn't mean I slow down any!
Been swamped with end of year productions, that's why my posts have dwindled.
SHould still be able to keep up with 1/day ok. And later next week should start slowing down and I can get back to 'normal'. Just can't check in 3-5 times a day like I usually do!
Oh, and great work on 'Morah' btw. I don't know whether to like him, hate him, just be creeped out by him, or all of the above!

I was going to post this earlier but I felt kind of well, dumb. Dealing with Morah gives me that nasty feeling in the pit of my belly. That queasy feeling as if something really bad is about to happen and you know it is all your fault.

I like him, I hope he's one of those amoral NPCs rather then a villain, and although I don't doubt he's up to something I hope it's a Lando Calrissian type of betrayal rather then a Brutus kind.

Ragadolf |

We'll miss you Utak! (Again!) At least this time we know your coming back! :D
I also have a sinking feeling dealing with Morah. You just KNOW that no matter what deal you make with him, even if it doesn't actually hurt anybody else directly, that HE will end up with something that HE wants no matter what. :P
Even an amoral character can be VERY dangerous. Usually more so than others, because they don't care what they do, or to whom, to get what they want. And while Lando turned out to be a cool character, being turned over to the 'evil pirate/sorcerer' empire right now would suck! Even by a guy who intends to rescue us later so we can fulfill our debt to him!
Very cool though, very 'edge of your seat, what's next?' type stuff. Thanks Wolfie!
BTW, still busy at work, should be able to post once a day, just giving you warning it might be late at night for the next couple of days.
Thanks,

Utak |

I just found out some news that may or may not impact my posting frequency. Please bear with me as the days and weeks unfold. I will make every effort to post and keep everyone updated. Thanks.
Posting frequency aside, I truly hope things are all right.
Take Care!

1000 posts, a milestone and well done all.
To wake up and read Shulim discussing who gets the gnome nurse with Fudrick was great stuff. Laughing out loud at the computer tends to make my wife concerned for me.......mentally concerned that is.
Anyway in view of the way you all handled getting on board and merging with the crew - have another 50xp.
Cheers

Holy crap, Guy. That made my day. I love your character and you play him to a T. How can Fudrick even argue with your reasoning? You just made a crappy week a little less crappy. Thanks.
Mr. Wolf:
I forgot to add in my IC post a question to you. I don't have Know:Rel, but I was wondering if it was possible to determine her religious affiliations from the necklace?

Brilliant! Thanks guys! I needed that! "Normal size folk know better," :D
In clarification of the name of Zerea's ship, It is indeed the Sea Harem.
However, upon realizing our collective mistake, I have decided that the forced crew of the Sea Harem call it the Sea Witch when Zerea isn't in earshot.
To add to the confusion, 'The Sea Witch' is Zerea's mother, and the crew also calls Zerea 'the Sea Witch'. (As most of the crew have never seen her mother, and think she is a legend created by Zerea.)
To help clear some of the confusion, Fazaam started referring to Zerea as 'the Sea 'B'itch', (out of earshot of course!) to distinguish between her and the the ship. At this point he's pretty sure that Zerea's mother ISN'T a fabrication, but doesn't really care whether he insults her or not, as he hasn't met her yet. ;)
How's that? 'Fear my justification powers!' :D

Thanks guys, I do love getting into character and trying to think like they think. I'm glad to have cheered anyone up. I see Shulim as a crafty little dodger with a dry wit. I'm glad people are enjoying his banter :)
It's funny this is really only the second gnome I've EVER played, I mean ever, that's about 21 years of D&D and only 2 gnomes. And technically I didn't really make him, just took over like one of those Dr Who series (I want to give Shulim a recorder or a ridiculously long scarf now).

I hope you guys don't mind me moving things along a bit, otherwise we could bog down in roleplaying chatting to everyone onboard over the next few days sailing.
Feel free to discuss amongst your selves how you go about getting any info. There will be group xp at the end of it and I hope for one or two of you to get enough to level up before you reach the seedy and dangerous Musushlat
Guy - Shulim seems a natural gnome and you fit him like a glove. I rarely play them myself. Perhaps half-orcs and elves me, never rogues always spellcasters.
Just so you know I am running a game this Saturday so my time on the boards gets cut drastically as I prepare. Still try to keep on top of this game.
Cheers

Ragadolf |

Keep it up Guy! I have been slow on the boards myself lately, due to RL issues, but seeing you enjoy it so much helps get me back in the groove!
I don't think I've ever played a gnome. Unless you count the Neverwinter Nights PC game, I think I played a gnome bard for part of that first module. Then went back and actually played it as Sorcerer. I almost ALWAYS play casters. I luv the magic!
Messier Wolf, Fast Forward is fine with me, otherwise once I get started I WILL take several days/pages of posts attempting to be flamboyant! :)
I'll post Fazaam attempting to be clever with the crew, because he can! :) Then it's off to rescue my girlfriend! :D

I keep forgetting to mention this. The wife and I are getting away for a bit from June 21 to June 30. Sorry for any inconvenience.
Nice. You've got to get away sometimes.
Guy, Shulim is very cool. I'm trying my first gnome who's also my first sorceror in another PbP. An average Joe kind of guy who's caught up in this adventure by circumstance. He's nowhere near as interesting as Shulim.
I'll post Fazaam attempting to be clever with the crew, because he can! :) Then it's off to rescue my girlfriend! :D
I'll post Ghari bumbling his way into the hearts of the crew because his rolls are so average. Then its off to rescue my sister! :D
Actually I won't post that, I think I already did. can't wait to see what we find out from the crew. WRT levelling, unless Ghari gets some wicked experience for coiling lines and dropping ropes, there's no way he's getting to second level. Aren't we all sitting at about 700 ?

Ragadolf |

Very nice tracking Ocho!
I thought I had my system all organized-like, but organizing means keeping up with it too!
(Says the guy who forgot update his HP out of the negatives! Grumble grumble)
Yeah, Ghari and Fazaam are a bit behind the others, hopefully not TOO far behind! (I've tried to make sure I keep up with that! Because It is only the 2 characters, if both of us miss an XP add, we'll NEVER figure it out!) ;)

Ragadolf |

Try to decide amongst yourselves what sorts of questions you want answered and who you are asking. I.e. Marwan tries to find out more about Musushlat from the crew, for instance.
Cheers
Anybody have any ideas on this? Real Life has kind of caught up to me lately, and I'm not at my sharpest. What should each of us try to find out about?
Possible ideas;-Musushlat from the crew, as per the nice hint from our kind DM, :)
-Information on Zerea from our host perhaps? (presuming he HAS had dealings with her?)
-Tales about the island from the crew? Fanciful tales might have a basis in truth, and maybe we can get an important piece of the islands history this way?
That's all I have right now, what can you guys come up with?

well Yrar got a real juicy tip from the old fisherman when he said "You seem to have the right of it. So I'll be straight. His crew, well they come and go. Often see them come but ..." (implying that he never sees them leave), if Yrar shares that tidbit with us I think that's something well worth asking about.
Knowing more about Morah and his family might be a good idea, we're currently staying in his daughter's room, and we've met his granddaughter, but let's fill in the rest of the pieces.
It would also be good to know how much Morah knows about the dwarven ruins, was he funding the expedition? Did he know anything about the ruins? Maybe he was secretly behind the scenes trying to cause some sort of prophecy to come about.
Are we even sure that Morah is the brains of the outfit? Perhaps he doesn't even give the orders! Lets see what the crew know about the man.
Can anyone else think of anything more to add to the list?
PS: Wolf, I was asking the cook if he'd been on the ship long because Shulim was going to ask him some questions. If this guy is new then Shulim would just stick to being friendly and try to find someone else who's in the know.

thereal thom |

Ghari's first concern is whether or not the crew and Morah are decent guys. Are we likely to have to duke it out with them later? What happened to everyone's paranoia? Second would be information on Musushalt, but for that he's really waiting to see the place for himself. WRT Zerea, he thinks he knows well enough what she's like.

![]() |
Absolutely, that's near the top of the list, but knowing as much as possible is also really important.
Oh and I meant to say that's some real nice stuff there the TheOcho, I'm pretty bad with record keeping, but I can really appreciate someone that has that stuff nailed down. That's awesome.

No problem Ragadolf. Get well soon mate. I shall post the results of all your chats in the next few days while I draw up the details of the port tomorrow. If anyone has anyone other questions then feel free to throw them in before Tuesday.
Each of you will gather some info and then its a case of the party getting together before reaching Musushlat and deciding what to do about it all.
As for Shulim's discussions with the cook and Fazaam on Tenimith, they are both willing to talk about some things and not others. I don't want to get bogged down with the RP while I prep the next bit and disseminate info.
Cheers

Ragadolf |

Hehe, thanks for the tips guys!
(I actually usually drink Ancient Age, it's cheap, and it has a nice woody-barrel-oaky flavor that I've come to love!)
Hmmmmm,... I haven't had any (real) Scottish or Irish whiskey in a LONG time,... Might be time to pick up a bottle and celebrate, after I finish the meds,.... (Dang Doctors all say that alcohol weakens the antibiotics, having been through and survived this once before, I think I shall exercise self-control until then! AFTER on the other hand,...) :D
Yes Mr Wolf, I like the RP, but don't let me over-post and bog down the run with my questions. You get the general idea of where I am heading, and Fazaam is pretty smart (Higher IQ than me at any rate!) so he'll probably figure out what is safe for him to talk about without causing them to clam up. If I think of any other specific questions, I'll post them by tomorrow night.
Thanks all, Laters!
