For Franz and KC

Spoiler:
What sort of characters you like to play for In Nomine?

Spoiler:
huh... long time... let me think.

I'd like to try the bad side for once.
I'm gonna search my In Nomine box when I get home.

How about a goblin necromancer? Neutral maybe?

KC,

Spoiler:
you do know what games "In Nomine Satanis / Magna Veritas" are?

From that post, it does not seem that way...

In 'In Nomine Satanis' you most likely play a devil, while 'Magna Veritas' lets you play an angel, in a World much similar to ours.

Just to be sure, we are talking about the same thing...

Male Dwarf Fighter 2

I’ll try to update Girther and convert him tomorrow.

KC, ** spoiler omitted **

Sorry, I spaced out when I said I'd like to join.

I regretably do not have the books, so I guess I'm out.

For Franz

Spoiler:
Know of any other people interested in playing In Nomine? On the other hand, if you know how to play L5R 3rd. Ed. RPG, then let me know.

Radavel:

Spoiler:
Not really. But I think a thread in the Gamer Connect can take care of that.
I haven't found my Box of In Nomine Satanis / Magna Veritas as of now.
Also I discovered that the German and French "In Nomine Satanis" and the English "In Nomine" aren't exactly the same... I think the difference is in Style and Feel of the game, not in the rules as both use the d666.

As for L5R: I played some Oriental Adventures, but that's about it. I'm not really interested in it.

Male Human Technician 17

So, did we get enough sleep to prepare our spells?

Are we even able to prepare them, with the flood and all?

Okay, good timing...

Dark Archive

You know I've been reading up on the rules and it seems to imply that the 8 hour rest is only relevant to arcane casters; divine casters apparently can prepare spells provided that they have sufficient concentration at the appointed hour, i.e. morning, midnight, dusk.

I thought they had to rest too, but appearently that's not true.

d20srd.org wrote:
Time spent resting has no effect on whether a cleric can prepare spells.

There is still the question, if we have the hour to prepare them...

Dark Archive

Since the flood came with the dawn, I'd rule that you didn't have time to prepare if that is your appointed time to prepare spells, unless of course you can make a convincing argument that your character can achieve a state of concentration in the middle of a flood.

Yes, a much abused loophole that I too have used.

Has everyone updated their character sheets to 3rd level?

I think Fjyndel is ready.

Sorry, I've been real busy. Will update in a few hours.

Sovereign Court

Male Mostly Human

Wait, so does that mean Quince can't regain his spells?

EDIT: After checking the SRD, it appears he DOES need the 8 hours sleep. :(
Which is going to make his next post very grumpy.

Female Kobold

Drint is updated.

Dark Archive

SargonX, I read in one of the threads that you'll be gone most of the month of August. To keep the story going, you alright if I run your PCs for you?

<Rubs hands together>

Or you can request one of your co-players to run him?

Male Human Technician 17

Am I able to prepare the spells while riding on the back of the riding dog?

Yeah, I was going to announce my absence on all my pbp threads today. So I will be gone with no internet access until Aug. 21.

So yes, please run Quince as an NPC (although without rest last night, he only has one spell left...)

No. Unexpected movement can disrupt your concentration.

Thought so, but was worth a try.

Thanks.

Perception (Smell) DC 20, get +2 bonus for 5 ranks in Knowledge (nature)** spoiler omitted **

Nobody can have 5 ranks in Knowledge, for we are only level 3.

You mean 2 ranks and 3 bonus ranks for being a class skill?

Dark Archive

Damn, still laboring under 3.5 rules, make that 2 ranks.

Everything but Coralee's Skills. I've been both busy and lazy... not a good combination.

In our case, perception.

Perception check, Quirk.

Sovereign Court

Male Human IT Wizard Level 5

Sry, that was not directly addressed at you, Radavel. I wanted to illustrate that in my Pathfinder campaign I also have the problem with distinguishing between the different skill sets. That's why I always call for Spot checks in my Pathfinder campaign...

Dark Archive

That's alright. Quirk really needs to be alert. I am your GM remember. :D

Also, I see three of the Factions are represented in our game.

Male Human Technician 17

It's not really winter, is it?

Shall we update to Beta?

Dark Archive

Nope. Only parts of the forest are iced up.

All in favor of a beta update say "aye"

Male Human Technician 17

Aye.

Would be better for playtesting as well, I think.

Dark Archive

Oliver, what do you say?

Female Kobold

We have to change rules again?

It's alive! The Rules are alive!

Have you downloaded a copy of Beta?

Sovereign Court

Male Human IT Wizard Level 5

I already have it as a printout in binding (not the official version, though)

Male Human Technician 17

Fjyndel should be up to date now.

Somebody please look over him though.

Female Kobold

I'll update it as soon as I find the placer to download it.

Dark Archive

Just order the pdf (free version). When you're done, you can download it from the download section of your account.

Hello all, I'm back. It'll take me a day or two to get caught up, but I'll get back into the swing of things ASAP. Rad, let me know if there's anything else I need to know that happened while I was away. Also, I'll be gone again next week from 28-31 Aug at Gen Con UK, just to let you know.

I'll throw in an "aye" for Beta too, though I haven't had time to look at it yet. Hopefully I'll have the hardcover after GenCon UK next week!

Did anyone else take any of the loot from the zombies? Quince took the dagger, and he may take the rest too if no one else wants it.

Female Kobold

Guys, I'm gonna be gone for a few days. NPC my character as necessary.

The campsite was lousy, it rained all day. We decided to go and got home at midnight.
