Character Generation:
32 point buy for stats
Max Gold for equipment
Core Books (PhB, DMG, Monster Manual)
Alignment Restriction: No Evil Alignment (though for Kobolds, evil is probably relative)
Anything else: please run it by me first.
I hope you don't mind me making suggestion in the creation of your characters. I further hope that no explosions result from putting a gnome and a kobold together. (Probably worse than TNT)

Not to worry. Drint (Here I am, almost done)is not a 'Me see hater of Kurtlemak! Me kill!' type of guy. He is no racist.

My abilities have invisible castle (as you can see), though I never see much point in having to prove point buy.

Somehow my last post seems to be lost... so here again:
Background is in, Feedback needed (ok? not ok? changes?)
Starting gold: I am unable to find that info anywhere. A little hint? Pretty please with cherry on top.
Fjyndel does not have any problems with Kobolds so far. That may or may not change.
Last question: Animal companion: Is a riding dog ok? Any other suggestions?

It was in the gamer connection thread. I think it's max.

Let's hope it doesn't!

Snakes are cool. I think the starting gold is in page 111 of the PHP. To save you some time, though, the max would be 120 gp., if I'm not very much mistaken.
See? That might have been the problem: I don't own a PHP! (Neither do I own a PHB or a DMG or a MM for that matter.)
But thanks. I'm gonna see what I get for 120 gp.

Yikes. This bodes for interesting roleplaying: A kobold, a gnome, me playing, 2 guys who likely go to sleep at a radicly differenty time than the third guy, and now this!
You're using d20srd.com, then?By the way, do we have all the players yet? It seems like only about 2 or 3 so far.

So just a kobold rogue and gnome druid so far then, or are there some other characters yet? I was thinking of playing a cleric, but maybe now we need a fighter...
Just woke up. To recap, we have:
Kobold Cleaver - Kobold Rogue
Franz - Gnome Druid
SargonX - Cleric or Fighter (Cleric of a god with the war domain perhaps. Iomedae has a followig in Falcon's Hollow)
ManPig - Waiting for Confirmation
By the way, this campaign is set in Golarion. Hence, feel free to use the pantheon mentioned in the RotRL Player's Guide. Also, a free feat from the same book awaits you. (Just work in the reason for the feat into your background). Skills, if possible, should also be justified by the background of the character.
We are starting 1st level.

I have a character idea in mind. Fighter or Cleric will work. If SargonX wants to play a cleric that would be great. As I read this thread I got a little excited because my character idea is this:
I will work on a back story a little later tonight. Work is crazy busy tonight.
EDIT: I put the spoiler info in the "For Radavel's Eyes Only.." thread.

As for the other players: a halfling and a goblin would be nice so that we would have a small party.
HA! I was thinking the exact same thing! A bunch of ankle-biters running around. I'm not sure I want a kobold AND a goblin in the party, though.
If SargonX wants to play a cleric that would be great.
Ok, ManPig, I'll take the cleric.
SargonX - Cleric or Fighter (Cleric of a god with the war domain perhaps. Iomedae has a followig in Falcon's Hollow)
I was thinking maybe Sarenrae, but I'll need to look back at the Player's Guide for a final decision.
Then again, since we have a druid, maybe an arcane caster would be better?
| Girther StoneStriker |
Girther is 4’ 4” tall and weighs 158 pounds, which makes him a quite a bit taller and somewhat heavier than the average male dwarf. He wears well cared for scalemail armor and carries a sturdy large wooden shield. Any observer can see he is armed with a dwarven waraxe, dwarven urgosh, earthbreaker and javelin. His backpack and adventuring gear hang easily from his broad, strong body. He looks every bit the seasoned dwarf warrior of legend. His dark brown hair and beard have premature streaks of gray in them. His eyes are black as coal. Those, along with his crooked teeth and his permanent glower, make his otherwise ruggedly plain demeanor take on a more ominous aspect.

For Radavel: Girther's back story.
Girther is not your typical dwarven warrior. For most of his life he was the typical dwarven miner. He wasn't the best miner on his crew, nor was he the worst. The job appealed to Girther’s sense of community and gave him a sense of fulfillment. He enjoyed the camaraderie of his friends and was a respectable member of his community. Because middle age was a respectable time for a dwarf to marry he had even started to consider settling down and raising a family. He worked hard, played hard, and prayed hard. He did his part when it came time to train with the militia but never felt like a warrior. He always felt like a miner playing warrior. But he knew if called on he would fight bravely and well. All that changed a little less than a year ago. That’s when the bastards ate his little brother.
Girther’s not sure who the bastards are. All he knows is that his little brother, Wilsturm StoneStriker, left one day with a caravan and did not live to return. The StoneStriker family has a long and distinguished history of producing miners. And although Wilsturm was a good miner he never felt comfortable dedicating his young life to it. Girther used to tease him and tell him it was just his youthful immaturity that kept him from accepting the rewards of the mining life. Wilsturm was headstrong; he never gave in to the pressure to conform. Instead he started hanging out with the militia more and more. One day, out of the blue, he announced that he was accepting the position of caravan guard and would be leaving the next day. Girther watched him leave. Girther hoped that the outside world would over awe him and change his perspective on mining. Instead, only a few days after departure, word spread that the caravan had been attacked and destroyed. The goods were gone. The people were dead or missing. Evidence at the scene of the attack showed that the attackers had butchered and feasted on the dead. What might have happened to the missing was too horrible to think about. Girther learned that Wilsturm’s body had been spitted and cooked over a very large open pit. Most of him was missing.
That day Girther joined the militia. His normal demeanor was replaced by surliness and a grim sense of determination. He pledged to Torag that he would spend the rest of his life putting to death those creatures that would kill and eat the innocent men, women, and children of this world. He has trained hard (this is where he learned the age old dwarven fighting skills and also picked up the feat “Big Game Hunter”) and is now ready to begin his one-man crusade.
I'll put this in the other thread as well.

Since we seem to be short an arcane caster, and in keeping with the Small theme, I will play a halfling sorcerer.
But first, a couple of questions for Radavel:
And for familiar choice, can I take a firefoot fennec (basically a small fox native to Darkmoon Vale, see D0 p.7)? D0 says it has the same stats as a dog, but Dragon #323 has a fox familiar using cat statistics, that grants its Master +2 to Will saves. Yea or nay?
Bonus feats: None of the bonus feats in the RotRL players guide fit my concept - I don't really want Varisian tattoos, since Varisia is far away from Falcon's Hollow. Could I possibly take a different bonus feat instead?
My ideas are: Toughness, Fey Heritage (from Complete Mage), Soul of the North or Spell Hand (from Complete Arcane).
Let me know which rules you'll let me bend. :)
(And let me know if you can't read the spoiler.)
EDIT: And do we roll hp, or get max at L1?
Radavel

For SargonX:
To all: You all start at max hp. Sorry for not clarifying that at the start.

OK, I understand about the bonus feat, they just seem more Varisia-flavored than Golarion-flavored to me. I'll probably take one of the City-born feats, I'll just have to decide which one and tie my background to it.
But, regarding the feats I listed from Complete Mage and Complete Arcane, are they available for me to choose normally, or should I stick with PHB/SRD? In particular, Spell Hand kind of fits my concept, though I'm also leaning towards Improved Initiative. When I know what's allowed, I'll make my choice.

They're available to you to choose from normally.
