What should the subs be doing?

Since the alternates aren't (quite) one of the top 32 and they aren't posted at the main page, what and how should we/they put out items out to be looked at?

Perhaps I should start a thread called Alternate Items....

You should be writing and submitting your country!!!

You need to turn in your submission at the same time as the top 32. If a top 32 person flakes or is DQ'd, then we will consider the submission of the alternates. BUT we wont come ask you to do a submission. You will have to have already done one and turned it in.

In other words, you are treated as if you were in the top 32 (you just might not actually get your submission read).

So go create that country!!!

Superstar quality Alternates would be crafting devious and Machiavellian plans to sabotage one the top 32. Then, when you get your chance to slide in as a main...your plans for world domination will be that much simpler.

Sounds like 1 of the remaining 4 alternates might be in, since the trepanation guy says he's resigning.

Yeah, good thing we picked 6 alternates...

If I was an alternate, I would absolutely be designing a country. I would expect that one or two more of the top 32 might fail to submit an entry for the country (without announcing it).

The door is still open for alternates. So be ready!!!

The e-mails notifying the alternates provided specific instructions for that. (Though I do worry that some of them only got as far as thinking "I didn't win?" before they stopped reading.)
