Question About Order #755791

Customer Service

My order #755791 is currently pending (and has been since November 15). Part of that order is a copy of Dungeon #122. I notice that that particular issue is now half price. Will I be charged full price for that issue or will get it for half price?

I have applied the discount to your order.

Thanks Cosmo. Much appreciated.

Any idea when my order might ship? I have been waiting since the 15th or 16th. Initially it was held up by one of the books being on back order. That came in a while ago now but the order is still listed as pending.

There was a book holding up your order, Crisis in Freeport, but this book is no longer available and has been canceled.

Your order will be shipping soon.

Ok. Thanks for that. Another question now. Since Crisis in Freeport has been removed from my order, is it possible to add the Ultramodern Firearms Hardcover and/or Sidewinder: Recoiled to my order without pushing the shipping costs beyond their current amount?

I would prefer Ultramodern Firearms over Sidewinder: Recoiled if I can only add on but I will take both if they don't increase the shipping costs.

Unfortunately, adding Ultramodern Firearms Hardcover will make your shipping and handling jump to almost $80. And adding the Sidewinder book will make your order not ship for another 8 to 14 business days. I'm assuming that you do not want this, so I have made no changes to your order. If you would still like me to make these changes, let me know.

Ok. Thanks for that Cosmo. What about if I added the Zogonia book and/or Dragon:Ecologies to the order? Would that increase the shipping and/or delay when I get my order?

Olaf,

Right now, adding anything is likely to ship you from a Flat Rate class to a per-pound class, and with books, that means the price will go way up.

I'd advise placing a new order with the two items—that package should be relatively inexpensive to ship.

I would have thought that the Zogonia or Dragon: Ecologies would be similar in weight to Crisis in Freeport, the book that was removed from my order. Am I completely wrong?

I just checked and Zogonia is only 2 pages longer than Crisis in Freeport (66 pages vs. 64 pages) and they are the same size. Does the 2 pages difference really tip it over to the next shipping amount?

In this case, it's not about weight but about whatever fits into a flat-rate box, and frankly, your order is maybe a bit big as it is (we didn't have accurate product dimensions for every product when the sale started).

Fair enough. Just leave the order as it is then.

Any idea when this order may ship then? I was hoping to get it before Christmas but this looks extremely unlikely now. :-(

Your order is all in and ready to go. It's in the shipping queue and will be shipping as soon as possible. However, it isn't very likely that you will be getting it by Christmas.

Could someone at Paizo answer this question for me:

When one/some items in an order need to be backordered, are the other items that in that order set aside for that person or not? In other words, by waiting for an item on backorder to arrive, do I run the risk of other items that were in stock at the time of my order selling out in the meantime?

In this thread here jocundthejolly seems to indicate that orders are filled only when all items in an order are in stock. So, in the case of the Green Ronin sale, if my order was held up due to an item being on backorder other items in my order could sell out without me getting a copy.

This doesn't seem right to me. I would be a little pissed if I had ordered my books before someone else, but they got their copy and I missed out on mine because my order happened to contain an item that needed to be backordered. It doesn't seem like a very good way to do things if you want to keep your customer base happy.

I must admit to a similar concern

Olaf, Shel,

Vic answers your question at the bottom of this more clearly than I could hpoe to.
