Sprite's Spark and Monks

Rules Discussion

How do the sprite's spark (or Kitsune's foxfire) interact with monk abilities?
Can a sprite flurry with the spark? And how does it work with something like stances?

It doesn't work with stances in that you can't use the stance strike and it at the same time.

Otherwise, it's an unarmed attack so you can flurry it.

It is an unarmed strike. Anything that calls for an unarmed strike can use it.

I have it on my monk and it only okay, since it doesn't have a Str mod on damage.

This isn't always true. Many monk stances restrict the strikes you can make while in the stance, but that's not a default rule.

What I meant was you can't use Falling Stone strikes, for example, from range. You have to choose if you're making a Sprite's Spark attack or the attack granted to you by the stance.

Ah, yes. That is very true. It gives you a totally separate unarmed attack option and does not in any way modify your other unarmed attacks.

As far as I can tell, sprite's spark is an unarmed strike and works with anything you can do as a monk with an unarmed strike.

So, flurry, mystic strikes, metal strikes, adamantine strikes, Weapon Specialization damage, all yes.

Keep in mind that some stances only let you do a certain type of unarmed strike, so you couldn't do a sprite's spark strike while in that stance (e.g. Crane stance limits you to only doing Crane Wing attacks).

Also, a sprite's spark strike is different from a Tiger Claw strike (for example), so while you could do a sprite's spark strike while in the Tiger Stance, it's still just a sprite's spark strike (it doesn't get any of the traits of a Tiger Claw strike).

Brawling Focus - I'd say no, as sprites spark, while an unarmed attack, is in the sling group, not the brawling group.

Ki Strike - I'd say yes, as it affects your unarmed strikes.

Stunning Fist - I'd go yes.

One-Inch Punch - Me say yes again!

Standstill - NO, sprite's spark is a ranged attack and doesn't confer reach.

Powerful Fist - Half NO, Half YES, the ability specifically affects your fists, so I'd say sprite's spark is not affected as to the 1d6 damage, BUT I'd say YES to doing non-lethal as it says "any other unarmed attacks".

and so on...

EDIT TO SAY: HAVE FUN WITH IT. It's really not over-powered. I took it for flavor as I was building a Sylph Sprite who will pick up and use Gusting Winds Initiate as their primary martial arts attack, and I took Sprite's Spark as a conceptual filler for levels 1-7.

I find the concept of tiny creatures beating the snot out of much larger creatures to be amusing, so sprite characters definitely interest me.

If I may ask, have you had the opportunity to play the sprite monk? And if so, how did it fair?

I played around with one to test out some encounters and it was entertaining, but awkward. The ranged attack doesn't hit very hard and being in melee and sharing a square means no flanking.
