I am considering purchasing the Pathfinder Subscription but was wondering at what point does it start? Do I get the first book or where it is in the series? Does that make sense?
I hope that if I purchase the sub it begins with PF #1, but I have a feeling that isn't the case. Can one of you knowledgeable lads or ladies here fill me in :)

When you subscribe, there will be an option of radio buttons (the option circles that you have to fill one in) asking you if you would like to start with the current issue, or the next issue(it will also list the number of each option so that you know what you're getting and can fill in the ones you missed).

Are these adventures meant to be played back to back or should you mix in other adventures (say from the Gamemastery line)? So if you start with PF1 and go to PF 6 will the characters be 15th level?
They are designed so that you can run each path straight through. With this in mind, though, some groups may skip various parts of the adventure, and need to go on side quests to keep up with suggested levels.

The Pathfinder adventures are an "Adventure Path" that are designed to be played back to back (ie Pathfinder 1 - 2 - 3 - 4 - 5 - 6). The first arc (and the second I think) will take players from 1st level to about 15th or so.
Having said that, if you are thinking of starting a sub now, then you don't need] the first few pathfinders, you could easily use other modules to get your players up to the required levels, but I would strongly recommend getting the early pathfinders anyway. They are the best gaming products yo uare likely to find anywhere.
Yes, they are [i]that good
When I run it (hopefully starting just after Christmas) I will be adding a few side treks, and maybe pushing the level range out to level 20.

NOTE-
I'm sure you know this, but subscribing gets you the pdf copy of the book as well, nice little item to have for reference & such without having to find the book each time you want to look up something.
Welcome to Pathfinder!!!
Also as others have said, get the first 2 as well, even thou the 3rd has a great adventure in it, always nice to know why certain aspects are happening.
If not just for the background info on Pathfinder's world of Golarian-Verisia is worth the price of the books in itself.
