Missing (?) Pathfinder 3...

Customer Service

Dark Archive

Hey Paizo Staff (likely Cosmo);

Now, I know that your customer service is excellent and that if my Pathfinder is actually missing you'll send another out, and because your service is so amazing, I want to spare you that expense if there is any possibility that my issue is just late rather than not coming.

But I haven't received it yet, and I'm just wondering if that's normal or not. Any thoughts? Thanks, as always.

While this thread is for Pathfinder #2, the shipping process information therein might explain why you don't have #3 yet.

Have not received my Pathfinder #3 either.

Paizo is awesome but their shipping is just REALLY SLOW. I bought a bunch of stuff when the Green Ronin sale was anounced but dont expect anything to after New Years.

Just give them time.....A LOT of time, and you will get your book eventually.

I would not say it's their shipping that's slow. There are quite a few things they can't control between their warehouse and your house. Post offices speed and customs (for international shipments) can really slow the process. And Paizo has absolutely no power over those two.

On top of that, you can still chose for a faster shipping method if you absolutely want it fast and are willing to pay a few extra gold pieces.

Agreed..Im sure its not their fault. And i dont mind the wait if it means saving some coin.

Its just that It seems to take forever when I order from them..Yet if I get D&D books from Amazon the stuff shows up so fast it doesnt seem possible.

Comparing Paizo to Amazon is not necesary the best thing. Amazon is probably shipping from a warehouse closer to you than Paizo is. And even if it's not the case, the shipping volume of Amazon is probably many times higher than Paizo's, so Amazon as a lot more leverage (and probably agreements) when it comes to ensuring good postal service and fast deliveries.

I am also always amazed how fast I get Amazon's deliveries, I guess we just have to be a little more patient when we order at Paizo. And I really prefer to give my money directly to those who work so hard to get me those wonderful products :)

Djoc is right on pretty much all counts.

Sorry... couldn't resist. Seriously. The Will save DC was, like 24 and my will save is only +1.

I know with my shipments, the books only need to travel >200 miles. (Seattle to Vancouver)

But... it crosses an international border. And then has to clear Canadian Customs.

Judging by the stamps on the package when it gets to my house, it takes around 3 days to get from Seattle to Vancouver. That sounds around right, 1 day for processing on either end, and a day for the actual transit.

But then it spends anywhere from 5-15 days sitting at a customs office.

Then another day for the local post to drop it off at my house.

*I hate Canadian Customs

Well... I've heard that anything with Nick Logue's name on it will automatically go into quarantine*.

Because you never know...

You know, it's funny, but I get my mail about twice as fast after moving to Korea as opposed to Alaska...of course, once my mail hits California (my APO zip is an airfield in SoCal), the military throws it in a plane and I get it when I get it, but all the mail is treated exactly the same with no regard to priority, express, overnight, etc. I learned when I lived in AK that my priority mail would get pushed back to make room on the plane for express mail--if Amazon sent me a package on Monday, it was the next Monday or Tuesday before I received it (Alaska); here, I get it by Friday.

If you read all of that, you know it in no way contributed to the discussion.

On another unrelated note, is anyone buying a Kindle? I'm interested, but will never forgive Amazon for 1) throwing-out GlassBook (which has never been surpassed); and 2) Emptying my Digital Locker of every ebook I ever bought from them (about $200 in books). Who's to say the same won't happen to the ugly Kindle in five years ( anyone notice it looks like an overgrown Texas Instruments scientific calculator from 1989?)?

By the way I got PAthfinder #3 yesterday. Right after I posted above.

I always get my stuff its just slow...I dont mind :)

Yah, I got mine on the 22nd. Of course, I live in an apartment so I have one of those lovely little boxes for my mail, and the mail guy apparently can't read well enough to understand that the "DO NOT BEND" message that appears very prominently on the front of the package actually means "DO NOT MUTILATE THIS TO SHOVE IT INTO A BOX THAT IT WAY TO SMALL FOR IT!"

Thankfully the book was not damaged.

Yay #3!
