Liberty's Edge

I never saw that movie; just quoting the Metallica song.

I saw Lookout last night; loved the BBEG "Bone." What a freak.

"The Lookout" with Josh Gordon-Levitt, or whatever his name is... the kid from 3rd Rock from the Sun--saw it a week ago. Fantastic film.

Was Bone that creepy 45 year old who never spoke?

"Hammer, Hammer"

Is this part of the Metallica song?

It's always an odd feeling when you think someone is pop referencing the 60's and it winds up being a pop culture reference from the 90's. Dating yourself in public forum, or rather, carbon dating yourself.

Pink Floyd-Run like hell...

Yeah. He had kindofa an Abe Lincoln fronting like Johnny Cash groove going on.

Sorry for the late reply; football day and running to McDonald's day....wot wot....

Go, Maggie!
Hammer, Hammer, Hammer, Hammer, now!

Liberty's Edge

That's the MAIN thing that stuck with me about that film--Bone's imagery, this skulking menace, this Stymphalian bird of a man.

He's a great villain just because of the cinematography, that scarecrow in black, with pasty white hacker skin, up against that field of white snow.

Movie recommendation. HARD CANDY. It'll show you what to do with a BBEG.

Liberty's Edge

I'll take it under advisement.

Scarab Sages

I took something under advisement once....

Sounds like something Danny Vermin would say in Johnny Dangerously.

Actually, you're quoting Metallica quoting a Misfits song.

Misfits > Metallica

I bet Danzig could beat up James Hetfield.

As an aside.Anyone see the Metallica documentary where they where all crying like little girls.

They can't be Rawk Gawds no more.

I thought it was only Lars who cried? (not that there's anything wrong with it--I'm sobbing open-mouthed right now) On NPR Hetfield confessed to being an emotionally blocked dude. His father was pretty severe and he has trouble emoting. Trying to fix that so he doesn't mess up his own progeny.

You might be right, it has been awhile since I've seen it. I do remember Dave Mustane crying too and thinking, "Dude! You're in Megadeth!"

Dark Archive

I think Danzig could probably whoop Conan too.

I have observed that every other frackin thread has to turn into a discussion of WotC, DI, or 4E.

Yih, but we're about to get into a Metallica heated discussion here...

Metallica became dead to me after the whole Napster debacle. "One" is still the best rock ballad ever, but I have trouble getting through much else now before switching stations.

Liberty's Edge

Yih...they did start to suck pony.

Apparently they turned into crying wimps, which I did not know. And I still got my jean-jacket with a justice for all back-patch.

Note to self, burn head-banger jacket.

Metallica ended for me after Cliff Burtons death, Master of Puppets is their last great work for me ..and Justice for all was ok...The Black album turned me off metallica...

Hair Metal (giggle)

Metallica is kinda like Samson...they stopped being good when cut their hair off (with very few exceptions).

The Exchange

Agreed. I miss stuff like Ride the Lightning and Master of Puppets. Who the hell decided that change is good anyways? That dude should be drug into the street and beaten with rocks and sticks to show that old stuff does an effective job (and is way more fun)...

I'm about to go all Keith Moon on my computer if it does not stop this doing what it's doing!

The guy responsible for deciding change is good has been sacked.

Like a slow spell been cast on it!

I've been having a similiar problem with the piece of crap that I post from.

I had to do a disk defragmenter and disk clean- up, now it back to normal.

Mine does that when I am streaming music, downloading and trying to surf all at the same time. Curse its metal body. It wasn’t fast enough.

Liberty's Edge

This wouldn't fit on the "Things that Suck" or "Good Things" threads, so I'm posting it here.

A woman I'd been courting for the past few months (she really didn't notice it) decided to start dating a guy I work with. The coworker (not naming names) is normally an egotistical jerk, but when his new girlfriend is around, she seems to take him down a few pegs, making him tolerable. I'm not sure what to make of this exactly, but it's one of those weird things that's bad and good at the same time.

Sorry, Danger Dwarf. You're not gonna find a bigger fan of the original Misfits than me, but Glen Danzig just doesn't seem all that tought after this one punch knockout.

Metallica was a tremendous band. Then they cut their hair and starting making videos.

"Die, Die, Die My Darling" lyrics:

Spoiler:

"Die Die My Darling"

Die, die, die my darling
Don't utter a single word
Die, die, die my darling
Just shut your pretty mouth

I'll be seeing you again
I'll be seeing you in Hell

Don't cry to me oh baby
Your future's in an oblong box, yeah
Don't cry to me oh baby
Should have seen it a-coming on
Don't cry to me oh baby
I don't know it was in your power
Don't cry to me oh baby
Dead end girl for a dead end boy
Don't cry to me oh baby
Now your life drains on the floor
Don't cry to me oh baby

Die, die, die my darling
Don't utter a single word
Die, die, die my darling
Just shut your pretty mouth

I'll be seeing you again
I'll be seeing you in Hell

Don't cry to me a baby
Your future is in an oblong box
Don't cry to me oh baby
Should have seen the end a-coming on, a-coming
Don't cry to me oh baby
I don't know it was in your power
Don't cry to me oh baby
Dead door for a dead end life
Don't cry to me oh baby
Now your life drains on the floor
Don't cry to me oh baby

Die, die, die my darling
Don't utter a single word
Die, die, die my darling
Shut your pretty mouth

I'll be seeing you again
I'll be seeing you in Hell

Don't cry to me oh baby
Die, die, die my darling
Don't cry to me oh baby
Die, die, die my darling
Die, die, die my darling
Die, die, die my darling

Die, die, die, die, die, die....

Danzig is 52 now. He pushed a bigger guy nearly two decades his junior. The whole video shows he's no fighter, as evidenced by:

A) He pushed. As Bruce Lee once said, "I never push."

B) That guard's punch could have traveled at half that speed and Danzig still would have caught it. He was asleep out there.

C) He didn't fly back to his feet. He sat on the ground waiting for the threat to lose interest.

D) Groupies had to drive the guard away by calling him fat.

E) I distinctly heard Glenn whimper sing, "Papa, can you hear me?" Dazed and bruised, he must have thought he was starring in Yentl.

All of the above make the clip even more ridiculous. Danzig must have either been a.) really drunk, or b.) been on the receiving end of a Wis drain attack. What a maroon.

Agreed. One looks much tougher avoiding fights one is likely to lose... publically... on youtube.

There are some very classy people in that video. That kind of behavior has kept me from going to rock concerts for about 15 years now.

My refrigerator hasn't worked in two weeks. I've been able to leave the milk outside, but this weekend it's nice and warm.
Oh, well. I guess I'll enjoy the fact that it's January and it's 80 degrees fahrenheit outside.
Don't forget to enjoy what is right now worrying about what isn't. Most things in life are good and bad at the same time.
I'm going to put my jibber-jabbering gowk hat back on now.

As a person with some professional experience in the matter. That was a nice punch.

Danzig on the other hand, whatever the f@$@ he thought he was doing, should have had his hands up and staked out his 5x5 after that push. Flat-footed after calling a guy out? Moron.

Liberty's Edge

Uh....this guy's gonna whup Conan?

It was a fast punch, and effective, but it threw Danny completely off balance and left him susceptible to a head crushing blow if Danzig had only managed to sidestep that four knuckle express, which he really really didn't.

Know why he didn't raise his hands? Because he thought it was going to turn into a wrestling match. He assumes far too much. A sign of his inexperience.

LOL. Danzig couldn't whup a Conan action figure, man.
