So at this point, based on the quality of Pathfinder material thus far, I pretty much plan to stick with Paizo, no matter what happens 4E wise. And I'm sure I could convince my players to do the same.
Which brings me to my point. If you came out with titles like "Complete Varsian" with things like common inhabitant's knowledge, new classes, prestige classes, feats, and so on, I'm sure I could tell my players they absolutely have to buy these items (and I probably would). Think about it - 6 sales instead of just 1.
I know some people feel there are too many prestige classes and feats out there, but I'm sure there is a reason WotC continued to churn out its Complete series - 'cause these things are popular. I for one would love to see stuff Pathfinder based with a Complete series based on regions and themes.
And no, the 16 page Player's Guide is not enough, IMHO. I'm talking about regional based books giving players several news options and DMs new campaign ideas. For example, the Complete Arcane book gives new classes, flavor options, and ideas for arcane campaigns - the Asian based book could be a Pathfinder version of Oriental Adventures with new player's stuff and ideas for campaigns.
I know you're probably more concerned with planning the next few APs (and what edition they might be in), but have you thought about this?

Yes, we have indeed thought about this.
The Korvosa gazetteer will be, in a lot of ways, a 64-page player's handout. (Well, there WILL be a chapter of GM secrets, but the bulk of the book will be Player Friendly.)
Likewise, the Golarion gazetteer will have lots of player info in there.
And now and then, we'll have sections in Pathfinder that are suitable for players as well, such as Pathfinder #2's chapter on Desna.
And yes, there are more player-oriented things on the horizon as well... stuff I'm not allowed to say much about.

Well, I was hoping to you'd have at least three done in time for Christmas, but if you need to sleep...whatever. ;)
I was really just wanting to know if you had plans for this kind of player's stuff. It sound like you do, but it's a BSMP (Big Secret Master Plan).
Anyway, keep up the good work and thanks for answering.

Can I just say once more, that I am always suprised at the speed in which the editors/writers and publishes reply to posts on these forums. No where else can you get such personal service.

They must have house elves or students keeping an eye on the boards and when something comes up they run off to their masters with the info.
Either that or they're sitting around waiting for the next interesting question ;-)

I'm open to all kinds of new Pathfinder products. I say, "Bring it on!"
BUT...
I've had it up the ying-yang with prestige classes. I'm not going to say don't make any. I'm just saying that if you do...
1] Less is more.
2] They should be GOOD.
3] Players shoulds actually WANT to take them.
One more...
4] Check the "power creep" at the door.

I may be light but I DO NOT float on water... i weight more than a duck! and you Mr McArtor dressed me this way and put this fake which's nose on me... I was only joking when I told you I turned you into a newt until you revealed everything about pathfinder's dragons, and that you got better.

I'd also like to see any Prestige Classes directly (or, at least, indirectly) tied to specific organizations or some other entity that provides some kind of backstory or reason for the PrC's existence.
Or, at the very least, some guidelines on the kinds of organizations (possibly naming a few specific examples) that might offer access to a particular PrC. I much prefer that to the idea that there are big bins of PrCs out there just waiting for random characters to come along and mechanically qualify for them.

You mean the way prestige classes were originally meant to be? Prestigious? :P
I'd heard some time ago that it was (theoretically, anyway) the whole idea behind PrCs ;p
I don't use them much, myself, but I do like the idea and would like to see them more specifically tied to a story element rather than just presented as another character option you can pick up because it sounds cool.
( not that there's anything wrong with that )

Yeah, that's how they were presented in the 3.0 DMG. Considering there's at least 700 of them now, somebody forgot that along the way.
I'm totally for the story element ties rather than the "just because" PrCs as well.

Uh... there you go.

Erik spilled the beans in another thread.
We have some plans for Cheliax, oh do we have some plans. Expect a brief write-up in the Pathfinder Chronicles Gazetteer (by yours truly), a great deal of information by association in the Guide to Korvosa (by Mike McArtor), and an adventure somewhere down the road by our illustrious Dr. James Jacobs.Oh, and probably five or six pages in the Pathfinder Chronicles Campaign Setting (did he just say what I think he just said?)
