It's in the Advanced Bestiary (also available as a pdf). There's a different dread template for each type of undead.
Cool i have this book, thanks
Green Ronin owes Paizo some money
The Lifespark and Dread templates motivated me to buy this book
Whenever we use a non-MM monster or template, by the way, we list at the top of the monster's stat block in Pathfinder where that template came from.

And along with the stat blocks they also provide the original source info (as per the OGL) thus allowing us to check out the original source if we like something we see. :)
The book name just was not ringing a bell
I don't have access to that book, can some one post a quick summation of what this template entails. The Necromancer in my group is really buggin me on this one.

All of the dread undead templates are basically nothing more than a way to create any of the undead from the Monster Manual using a template rather than just using the generic undead. You can have a ghoul bat, or a manticore mummy, or a shadow giant scorpion, or a vampire ettercap, or a purple worm devourer, for example. Each one gives a few additional abilities over and above what the standard undead get, to justify the template being such a separate entity, but in the end, a dread ghoul isn't MUCH different than a normal one.

I'm looking for a PDF version you can buy through Paizo, but not coming up with one.
There is Green Ronin's site.
Anybody see a PDF version available here on Paizo?
Green Ronin is selling the pdf for eighteen bucks, so you're a lot better off getting the hardcover.
They're trying to clear old stock (which is presumably related to why my old link no longer works).

$5 for a quality hardcover is hard to pass up though.
