For some reason I am not allowed by my Internet Provider to access the local Newspaper...I can get "anywhere but here" and in light of the number of Local Politicians falling out of the Paedophile Tree, and my own criticism of their continued presence as a registered Political Party (and citizens) and the looming election, I find this Democracy to be increasingly offensive and corrupt.

Yes I can shoot a bunny at half a mile through the eye in a crosswind but I dont condone that as a solution for the removal of a corrupt government.

How are you going with your own Democratic bastion of freedom?

First off, the fact that you have capitalized "democracy" and "democratic" in your post suggests you believe that the country is run by one party, the Democratic Party. If you are referring to the idea of democracy, then these words shouldn't be capitalized.

To answer your question, I'd say no, simply because of the huge growth in the number of left-wing blogs over the past few years where anyone can say anything and not be held accountable.

That being said, I believe strongly that the government of this country has one underlying problem with it: incumbency. This alone breeds corruption. The Ted Kennedy's and the Trent Lott's of this country have probably done more damage than Bush could ever dream of. If a President has term limits, why not Congress, too?

So I belong to the Anti-Incumbency party. I believe that we should amend the Constitution to ensure that Senators serve no more than two terms (12 years total), and Congressmen/Congresswomen serve no more than 6 terms (again, 12 years). The differences between the two parties have become minimal. Reelection is all there is to them.

I love America, and believe that we are disliked simply because we have many freedoms that many across the globe do not. Yes, my country tends to stick it's nose where it doesn't always belong. Then again, it ignores situations where it should be sticking its nose (Bosnia, Rawanda come to mind). I defy anyone to tell me where a utopia is. It can't truly exist because of human nature.

Just my two cents. Please don't flame me for having an opinion. I fear the left-wing nuts as much as the right-wing nuts. And American media outlets have become the propaganda tools of both sides.

Send a message this November: vote out your local incumbent, no matter what party they belong to. In all honesty, I'd love to see the Democrats sweep the election, because then we'll all see just how similar they are to the Republicans on the corruption meter.

Have a nice day!

I'm not fully following your train of thought here. Internet...newspaper...what's "anywhere but here"?...what exactly is the "pedophile tree"?...I'm confused overall, but I do agree our government needs a few changes. I also agree with Torillan, unlimited terms don't really motivate senators and congressmen to work hard. Another thing that could stand to change is our two party system, which encourages voter laziness and the 'tweedle dee, tweedle dum' syndrome.

You kidding right? Most syndicated newspapers have failed the American people and pretty much the whole reason for a free press has been co-opted as much of the news service is now sleeping in the same beds as the politicians and most people are unwilling to do the research to determine a news sources agendas and publishing policies before reading their diatribe. Even if you could read the newspaper, its hard to tell if what you read is real.

As an outsider, I thought it was really cool when the Dem's took back the congress and hoped they would bring freedom back to my American brothers.

lol; if you believe in the Dems then, I have a bridge for sale...

I think you mean "Comrades" [wink, wink; nudge, nudge] ;-)

Marx or Animal Farm? I'm guessing the latter.

I think you do make a good point about the whol incumbency thing. Limits wouldn't be a bad idea, though I think maybe 4 terms would be OK.

I'm not sure if Congress has a minimum age or not. I don't think that would be a bad idea either - say 50 years old before you could run.

Both, actually.... ;-)

Gee...that kinda silences those young people who dont want to go die on foreign soil so all those oldies can have cheap petrol and sit around and tell us how they wish they could go...

Thanks. However, I feel that 12 years is PLENTY of time to serve (just ask a Bush-hater how long these past 7 years have lasted ;-) ).

No idea how conscription works where you are, but since you were replying to a comment about the US congress, let's be clear on one thing. If young americans do not want to, as you so eloquently say, "go die on foreign soil", they do not have to. The draft was abolished in 1973. Selective Service registration exists as backup in case of a true military crisis, such as invasion by a foreign power, which is highly unlikely anyway.
