Existing figures for use in Pathfinder - recommendations? (SPOILERS!)

Rise of the Runelords

Scarab Sages

Over on <this thread>, Lisa (the CEO) was asking how many people would be interested in a range of Pathfinder minis, and if so, what specs (metal/plastic, painted/unpainted, etc).

On a totally separate thread, Snorter wrote:

Speaking of which, are there any plans to commision any Pathfinder figures, in light of the fact that many of the core creatures and races are getting a Golarion-specific makeover?

Lisa Stevens wrote:
The answer is yes, but if I gave you more info, I would have to kill you. :)

This thread is not intended to duplicate either of those other threads.

Rather, this thread hopes to avoid Paizo (or any collaborators) wasting time (and money!) 're-inventing the wheel', by highlighting figures already on the market, which match the specific look of Golarion creatures or NPCs.

This could help raise the profile of those sculptors who create cool stuff, but aren't as well-known as they should be. And it allows Paizo to focus their efforts on creatures and NPCs who really need the attention.

Just post a link; it can be the manufacturer's website, or a photo of your own collection. Especially so, if you've created a cool conversion, and can save others some time finding appropriate parts.

I'm aware this thread could be abused by players, trying to get advance warning of the opposition to come. This can't be helped; players have to be taken on trust not to do such things, and such spoilers are already available elsewhere, in these same boards.

Any takers? I'll be back if I see anything, too...I'd really love to help Paizo make a success of this setting, and any related figures, as a "Thank You!" for their great forum and customer service.

Scarab Sages

IconoclasticScream just came up with this link for a < goblin with macahuitl (spelling?)>.

Nice round head...

I'm running Burnt Offerings at the moment, and I've found a few which are really good, and the rest I just improvise. So I'm not going to list 'this looks really good as' minis (mostly) but ones I think make particularly good minis for a Pathfinder game without needing something else made.
These ones are just existing D&D minis, I haven't collected anything else for a while.

* Goblin Adept (Deathknell) it has the 'scrappy, cartoony' look of Varisian goblins
* Wulfgar (Night Below) could easily be a Chelaxian barbarian with an Earthbreaker
* The Dragon Totem Barbarian (War Drums), a very nice Shoanti warrior, probably using a big nasty Klar in his left hand
* Inspired Lieutenant (War Drums) with some red paint and maybe if you removed her 'crown', she'd look an awful lot like Seoni. She's certainly showing a generous amount of leg, which is in keeping with our lovely Varisian sorceress.
* Wild Elf Warsinger (Unhallowed)... it's an elf with green hair. 'Nuff said.
* Stone Giant Runecarver (Unhallowed) this looks very much like the ones on the front of Pathfinder 4.
* Yuan-Ti Halfblood Sorcerer (War of the Dragon Queen)... the new Lamia Matriarchs from The Skinsaw Murders
* Snig, Worg Rider (War Drums) aka 'Goblin Commando with Horsechopper'?

That's all I can spot right now, I might have a look through some other game systems later and see what I can find... and maybe squeeze onto my credit card.

Scarab Sages

and here's a rather scabby-looking goblin dog...

Think the rider is separate cast. Should be easy to cut off his head and give him a 'Stewie from Family Guy' makeover?

Thanks for posting, Paladin! Good to know I'm not just talking to myself (not that that ever stopped me before...<twitch>...).

Don't forget that we carry all these Reaper minis here on paizo.com. For instance the goblin on wolf linked above would be here.

and a boggard shaman...

boggards...

more boggards...

and, just out of curiosity; is this any relation to our fellow Paizonian, Peruhain of Brithondy?

As i am running burnt offering I am using the army box set for Ogres in Warhammer. It comes with these great nobblers which I use for goblins.

To this list I would like to add the Terror Wight, which does a fine job of being a sinspawn.

I started running burnt Offerings and for the goblins I've used some really old minis' I have the mold for. they came from Prince Augustine, these came out in the eighties, I think. Some of the older gamers may remember them, the scale is smaller(a traditional 25mm)making the goblins smaller and even less imposing on their own.
