Glancing up at the wall near my computer I've got Reynolds' Age of Worms and Lockwood's D&D 30th Anniversary posters framed on the wall...and that's pretty much it for fantasy art in the house...oh wait, I've got the Dragon Species poster from WotC (that I got at Wal*Mart of all places.) What I don't have are any of the classic artists I grew up with (more than a few adorned my walls, too) like Frazetta, Vallejo, Parkinson, Caldwell, Elmore, Easley, and many others. Aside from the Age of Worms print I've never seen any of Wayne Renolds' art in poster form, so it would seem that many of the modern fantasy artists are also without wall-art formats.
Is the fantasy poster dead? Sure, I suppose the head shops (am I the only one left that calls them that?) carry a few now and then though they usually involve some psychedelia which isn't what I'm looking for (though I wouldn't mind a cool black-light dragon poster...velvet maybe?). Is there a treasure trove somewhere (online or not) that I've missed? Those few that I have framed on the wall are nice but it'd be even better to be able to pepper the apartment (and, maybe someday, the "Game Room") with some awesome classic/modern fantasy art.

Well, all I can tell you is that, despite the fact that we frequently hear people say "You should make a poster of that," when we finally gave it a try with the Age of Worms art print, well... we still have a bunch, and we didn't make all that many.

Rather than looking for posters, I'd look for art prints by your favorite artists. These can commonly be found at SF conventions (and a few gaming conventions) that have art shows or by mail.
The best art shows are at Dragon Con, Gen Con, and World Con/NASFIC.
For mail orders, use the usual search tools to find the artists' websites.

I suspected as much in that I hadn't seen anything else from Paizo in this area. As for the mention of "prints", perhaps I used "poster" in too general of a term as I meant it to, indeed, include prints, lithographs, and any other printed medium of the original paintings/drawings. I'd thought of looking at artist's sites but was hoping more to find a single outlet for such things.
Still, and I guess Vic's statement must encompass the whole of the genre: nobody's buying so nobody's producing (at least not in mass quantities.) Oh well, I guess I'll just have to select specific artists and have at their respective websites.

You can order a ton of print-quality stuff directly off Todd Lockwood's site, and I believe Larry Elmore offers a similar service.

Thanks for the tips, Eric. Just ordered a litho of Elmore's "The Last Dragon Mage". As I'd noted above, Reynolds doesn't hock his wares online, much to my dismay. I've peeped into Lockwood's gallery, the "Song & Silence" art holds a place in my heart so I may pick this one up...though "Iron Fortress" would certainly be an ominous image hanging on the wall. Now if I could just score some of Justin Sweet's art (the cover art from Magic of Faerun would be an excellent start.)
