I'm thinking about sending my current high level campaign in the direction of Scuttlecove just for a visit and to pick up some information. I think it might be fun to do this and then in time re-introduce the city to the players in the STAP. I think it can be fun for the players to remember a common place even though it all appears new to the PCs.
Has anyone tried this?

I am about to have them play Dungeon 95 "The Porphyry House Horror" , a 10th level adventure in Scuttlecove as a prelude to our next campaign STAP... We just finished RHOD and I wanted to move to STAP but realized I had an old Dungeon adventure which needed to be played before STAP. It's a great prelude by James Jacobs with Tyranladi, Yuan-Ti and an Orlath demon....

Note though, while "The Phorphory House Horror" is a great adventure, it is marked "mature". Now, I'm not one to talk, being like 14 at the time of reading it. And, no, it didn't really bother me (though more of the sexual parts went over my head, I must admit.)
But it is a very nice adventure, but it has a problem with the pages. They were all connected together, so that one has to cut the adventure open, making it very messy if done inexpertly.

My players need to gain a missing piece of an artifact as part of a larger quest. They are going to Scuttlecove to meet with Kedward Bone who currently has it but has little use for it. I figure that ultimately dealing with Porphyry House is a really big deal and if they are clever they ultimately get the piece and foil an evil plot.
