Character portrait software

3.5/d20/OGL

Can anyone out there in Paizo-land recommend some good software for generating character portraits? Thanks in advance.

wow good question; I just draw mine by hand having the training and all, but it sure would be cool to have a generator do this.

I also draw mine by hand, but I would sure like a nice and versatile generator to do some of the work...

Somebody needs to liberate one of those police composite sketch programs that have libraries of hundreds of facial features.

You know, like the ones on TV shows...

A quick search on Google for 'police composite face software' (no apostrephes) gave quite a few hits. Ranging from $150-$500

FACES seems like it could work. According to the Wiki entry, it's the most popular US choice. There's an education version for $99.

Here's the link for the EDU version. Doesn't say anything about verification, but you may want to look further.

It might be a bit difficult to do demi-humans with this program, however, since I don't think the designers had 'fantasy character portraits' in mind.

It might still be possible for the Photoshoppers out there. The PH (3.0 for sure) includes pictures of each race from a profile point of view (stretch and skew mostly). The above mentioned software exports out to JPG, so you might be able to do some magic that way.
