About 48', he is not levitating much, and you had to get onto the first tier to be with range
What would Brick have to do to to get into club range?

A) wait your turn

B) either a vertical climb, or a pretty long run

I think a 9 Int pretty much guarantees a climb check. On my turn, of course.

Sorry for the delay

Rokko looks up at the Mind Flayer as it activates the key far above, “Well, I guess Goblins have to save the world, once again. Gotta get closer.” Rokko starts to pump his legs up the stairs running as fast as he can.

Moved from III L22 to III G04

Spot Check (Roll 1+0=1)

Ruuz is up on 5

Male Changeling Artificer 4rd

Still to far away Ruuz keeps his head down and runs towards the action.
X3 run to Y9
13 Spot check on the mindflayer, looking for any metal that it is wearing.

I pull a small vial full of swirling silver liquid from a pouch at my belt and pop the stopper off. I drain it in a gulp and a suit of elaborate armor briefly solidizes about me before fading from view.
I raise my crossbow, taking careful aim at the thing hovering in the air and then I let a bolt loose in its direction.
Taking a potion of Mage Armor. That brings my AC up to 21.
Attack 19 (14+4+1) Probably not a hit but if it is Damage 4 (3+1)

(Guys, please don't feel the need to wait for me - NPC me as you see fit when my turn comes.)

On 22:
The Key exlpodes raining shatterd chunks of dragonshards and gold filagree throughout the room. The central mass begins falling straight down, but suddenly hour-glss shaped wings extend to either side and a forked tail stretches out towards the back.

At first you feel terror take root in your spines as your animal forebrain process the presence of a dragon in the chamber, but the creature is twistwed and deformed. The head of a hatchling, but the wings of an ancient beast. For some reason the creature seems almost pityable, until it rises up again with only a couple flaps of its wings, and slaps the mind flayer out of the air with its tails.

"ow"...

The mind flayer lays in its square for its turn, collecting its wits off the floor with its tentacles.

"You foolish squid! You've broken the key!" Jyra begins, but as the dragon rises into view, she lets loose a baleful shriek, and releases a spell at the creature.

(acid arrow, but she missed)

Your ordeal stretches ever onward. An seemingly endless series of questions regarding "history". Hours after you begin, Aeren is satisfied taht he has plotted the exact time of your initial arrival to the 'time amchine'...

"Now tell me traveller? What of my people? The elves of your time, are they til slaves to the will of giants, or some other horrible master? Do we still cower in the shadows clutching the robes of our--"

The elder elf interrupts the younger by duffing him on the back of hs head, causing the young elves mouth to snap shot with an audible pop.

"No, Aeren, we will not dabble in the future here. We must decide what to do with this lost one." Turning back to you, "so, what do you think we should do?

Brick begins to climb the central pillar.

Climb check: 15 + 2 = 17

"Death to the dark ones! Death to the spawn of the deep!"

Spoiler:
“Oh, things work out for you guys … you end up alright by my time,” answers Valessa. “Right now I’m more worried about me – and my friends back there,” she gestures vaguely into the future. “I was kinda hoping that you knew what to do … but lets see. Your son said we had to shut down the time portal – I don’t know if he meant in my time or yours. And we needed to get the key to do that – again, I presumed he meant in our time, but maybe it only exists in yours … I’m guessing maybe I need to get the key from here, somehow get back to my time, and shut down the portal there.”

She pauses to catch her breath. “Oh, and although nothing was specifically said on this point, I think it would be in the spirit of things for me to be able to bring back some stuff to help my friends fight a mind flayer and a b#+!*.”

Ah, sorry about that. Getting house rules mixed up with RAW again.
I'm about to fire when the key explodes and the dragon emerges. I hold my shot, not sure what my target should be. "Ah damn. And I thought things might just take a turn for the better after this." I mutter and then add "So, kill stuff or run?" loud enough for those nearest to me to hear.

Male Wildhunt Shifter Ranger / 3

Beren moves 30ft. II L 04 to II R 04

Beren moves to close the distance as he nocks another arrow. He stops suddenly and covers his eyes as the Key explodes. “Rat!” Beren exclaims. Where the Key was, there is now a Dragon. “Rat and Wolf,” Beren shouts, staring at the scaly beast. Watching the Dragon slap the Mind Flayer to the ground brings a momentary toothy grin to the Shifter. Looking at the Dragon, shifting his eyes to Jrya, and eventually gazing at the fallen Mind Flayer, Beren says, “One at a time. One at a time. See ya squid-face.” Beren pulls back on his bow and launches another arrow at the Mind Flayer.

Using an Action Point … Composite Long Bow Attack (Roll 3+5+1+6=15) {-4 if on ground, I think} (possible attack roll = 11) Damage, if needed, (Roll 3+2=5)

Sari’s turn

Female Human Fighter/3

Sari moves 30ft from III A10 to III A16

Sari watches as the key burst and a dragon appears, 'Great, just great what else can possibly happen' She says as she prepares to shoot at the dragon but then she watches as it smacks down the mind flayer so instead she moves her aim from the dragon back to the mind flayer. Attack: 20+5=20 Boo Rah!! Damage: 1+3+4=8 Confirmed Hit: 8+5=13 Damage: 1 Well I started out good! But then that never gets you far!

Rokko moves 30 ft. III G 04 to III A 04

Rokko’s round bulbous eyes widen in shock, “Dragon? No no. I don’t think so. Time to disappear.” The Goblin performs a few hand gestures and vanishes.

Casts Invisibility, lasts 3 minutes

Ruuz’s turn

Male Changeling Artificer 4rd

Ruuz covers his eyes as the key explodes and the dragon comes out. "Great, just great. Now a f!!+ing dragon, Traveler watch over me."

Ruuz starts pulling things out of his coat, gathers his energy infuses his crossbow with power.
Going with the reliable Aberration Bane on my crossbow.
Burned an action point to do it in a round.

I fire my crossbow at the mind-flayer, cursing as my crossbow bolts goes wide of it's mark.
Attack 19 (14+4+1) If it hits 3 (2+1). Who's remembering to add their Bardic Music bonus, just out of curiousity.

Ok, to catch up:

Brick climbs 10' up the pillar.

Beren's arrow narrowly misses the prone flayer, shattering on the column top

Sari's arrow arc high up, managing to land squarely on the flayer, but the high trajectory robbed it of too much power to do much damage (did not beat the DR)

Rokko fades from view

Ruuz Enchants his crossbow

Merreck fires futily

Sorry for the delay

The dragon whips it head about frantically looking for another target on which to vent its rage. Flapping its mishapen wings it struggles for altitude a it flys through the chamber.

Dragon lacks hover, spends turn not falling out of the air.

The flayer unstoppers the vial in his hand, downing its contents in a single disgusting display of squid-like imbiding, and fades from view.

Then it does something else you can't see...

Potion of Invisibility

Jyra flies into a rage, and charges towards Ruuz, attacking him with the glowing red whip.

To hit: 16+4+2=22
Damage: 4+6=10

Yeah, you ran into, Lost starts when, Super What, what party, and a few other things this weekend. Not to mention the dragons starts are not normal

Oh, the horror!

When Jyra charges and strikes Ruz with her whip I swear I'll find a way to make a joke about that. I sigh and aim my crossbow at her, muttering "First a squid-headed Khyber spawn, then a dragon, and now an evil, insane whore-lady with a fire whip and magical tatoos. I should've stayed in Sharn."

Correct me if I am mistaken. The central pillar is 50 ft. high. Brick climbed 10 so far. I am guessing Brick climbs another ten in this round. That makes it Beren’s turn. Sorry, if in error, I am moving out of Initiative.

I sort of last track where is everyone is. I am guessing Ruuz and Jyra are close enough to move up and help my Changeling friend, If not, Beren runs to get there for the next round

The Dragon takes flight and circles while the Mind Flayer disappears and Ruuz is attacked. “Rat, Rat, Rat!” Beren curses as he shoulders his bow and draws his swords. Moving up to help Ruuz Beren growls, “Hey crazy lady, taste my sword.”

Longsword Attack (Roll 20+5+1=26)
Critical Confirmation (Roll 2+5+1=8)
Regular Damage (Roll 4+2=6)
For the heck of it, Crit Damage (Roll 4+3+4=11)

I *cough* yeah, I knew that. Uh-huh. Anyway, climb: nat. 20 + stuff, I think that makes it.

Female Human Fighter/3

Assuming that I can move close to where Beren and Ruuz are

"I knew that little witch was a slut but this is pushing it too far." Sari says as she runs to stand beside Beren, drops her bow, grabs her sword and attacks Jyra. "Take that you little tramp!!"

Attack: 16+6=22 damage: 3+3=6

Liberty's Edge

Male Engineer Geek 6/Engineer 5/Engineseer 1

For Brick

15-20 10' up
21-30 20' up
31+ 30' up

Otherwise, there is much beating on Jyra so far.

Rokko, still invisible, watches the Dragon circle the chamber. ‘Those wings are misshapen and barely seem to hold it up. Let me think. Aha, maybe gravity will be my ally’ , Rokko thinks and plots to himself. Rummaging through his scrolls, he pulls out one and prepares to read it when the Dragon gets close.

Readying an action to use a Ray of Enfeeblement Scroll on the Dragon when it is in range. Rokko hopes that with a reduced Strength, it will have trouble flying and simply drop out of the air.

Using an Action Point … Ranged Touch Attack (Roll 16+6+1+5=28)

Strength Penalty (Roll 3+2=5)

Ruuz, whip her back. Just don’t let Sari see …

Male Changeling Artificer 4rd

Ruuz tries to jump back as Jyra turns on him with the whip. Normally a naked women with a whip would be pretty exiting but I think this is going to hurt flashes through his mind seconds before the whip connects.

Ruuz staggers back from the assault, trying to ignore the pain and reaches in and grabs a potion from his coat.

Grabs a cure moderate wounds potion. That put me a 0 hp's so I guess I am done

Finally! My turn hath arrived!
I fire my crossbow at Jyra, hoping that the Traveler's luck will guide my hand and it seems my prayer is answered as the bolt flies true.
Attack nat 24 (20+4+1) Crit Conf. 21 (16+4+1) Dmg 12 (6+5+1) Booyah! WHO DA' HALFING?!
Satisfied I drop my crossbow and move so that I'm a relatively safe distance away and wait for her to make her move, hoping that I can get to Ruz and heal him before it's too late.
Moving to where I'm about 10ft away from Jyra, with Ruz in between us.

Liberty's Edge

Male Engineer Geek 6/Engineer 5/Engineseer 1

Ruuz is still concious at 0hp, one action per round only, and strenuous activity will cause a point of damage.

On 22, The dragon wheels lazily through the air, and begins to bear down on Jyra and her attackers. As it approaches its mouth opens and a cone of scintillating dust sprays out, covering Jyra, and everyone within 15 feet of her.

Fortitude Saves: DC 18
Success: 1 point of con damage
Fail: 2 points of con damage, and age 2 years

At roughly the same time, Rokko's ray strikes the dragon, visibly sapping its strength.

The Mind Flayer readies an action, and does something else, neither of which you can see, since he is invisible.

Jyra uses an immediate action to activate he abberant vigor feat (gaining 8 temp HP), and then takes a 5' step back, and attacks Sari.

17+4=21
IF that hits: 3(base)+6(level)+5(mark of vengeance)=14

and heals her 5 (mark of vengeance)

To every action there is an equal and opposite reaction. Fort save nat 1.
I fall to my knees as I feel strength and vitality leave my body. "Damn wench!" I grunt struggling to my feet as she attacks Sari.

Male Changeling Artificer 4rd

As the dust covers Ruuz he feels the life being pulled out of him and he collapses into darkness.

Fort Save : 12 + 4(action point) = 16
Now at -3 hp's

Male Wildhunt Shifter Ranger / 3

Assuming Brick is climbing …

Fortitude Save (Roll 16+4=20)

Beren shakes the dust out of his wild hair feeling somewhat weaker from the movement. Anger sets in as he sees Sari get attacked. The Shifter moves in to help. “Leave her alone,” he snarls.

Attacking Jyra w/ Full Round Attack

Longsword Attack (Roll 20+3+1=24)
Critical Confirmation (Roll 20+3+1=24) Wow, where are these 20’s coming from?
Longsword Damage (Roll 4+8+4=16)

Shortsword Attack (Roll 17+3+1=21)
Shortsword Damage (Roll 4+1=5)

Female Human (Aundairian) Rogue 3 / Ranger 1

DM:

Spoiler:
“… in Khyber is a space-time continuum? I don’t buy it. I still say that if I went back and hit Jyra over the head with a half-brick when she was a kid …”

Female Human Fighter/3

Fort save: 1+4=5 failed that lost 3HP 2 years

Sari takes a step towards Jyra and trys to shake off the attack that Jyra made on her. Sari prepares to attack Jyra yet again.
Longsword Attack: 17+4=21 Damage: 2+3=5 Drow knife Attack: 1+1=2 why even try, hope I didn't cut off my finger pulling it out!

M/n Warforged Cleric 3 / Paladin 1

Climb: 13 + 2 = 15

Brick makes it the final ten feet, heaving his massive form over the edge of the pillar.

“Ah, so that’s where the Warforged was this whole time. Glad he could join us,” Rokko says quietly to himself in a snooty manner as Brick lumbers to the top of the pillar. Turning his gaze back to the air, the proud Goblin watches the Dragon’s path and starts the incantation and gesture for his next spell. “Let’s see if this works better, my scaly nemesis.”

Readies an action to Cast Lesser Orb of Acid when the Dragon is in range

Using an Action Point … Ranged Touch Attack (Roll 7+6+2+1=16), Damage (Roll 3+6=9)

Ruuz’s go

Male Changeling Artificer 4rd

I continue to bleed to death.

Seeing that Jyra is occupied with Beren and Sari I go to Ruuz and try to drag him a few feet further away from the fight before invoking the Traveler's blessing to heal the wounded changeling. As he returns to conciousness I lean over him and, grinning, say "Next time, find a girl who's whip isn't flaming." as I do what little I can to help him to his feet.
CLW, 7 points healed to Ruuz.
