For the Morgrave group:
The strangely enticing song continues, though you remain focused on the task you realize the others are less fortunate. Only Jyra seems unaffected, and she is pulling on the straps of the professors pack while the other three girls start moving towards the trees.
Looking at their course, you see the poorly concealed shape of a red skinned female perched on one of the upper branches. She cluthches a weapon in her hand, and has perversly beautiful wings stretching out from her back.

But probably wind up down in hell
Where upon this alter I will hang my guilt ridden head
But it`s time I`ll take before I begin
Three sheets to the wind, Three sheets to the wind
Rebels are we, though heavy our hearts shall always be
Ah, no ball or chain no prison shall keep
We`re the rebels of the sacred heart
I said no ball or chain no prison shall keep
We`re the rebels of the sacred heart
Terrified of the open road
Yeah, where it leads ya never know
But rest assured he`ll be on you back
Yeah, the Holy Ghost through his tounges in black
As th band dog howls and the young girl cries
The blessed virgin in her proud dad`s eye
The albatross hangin' round your neck
Is the cross you bare for your sins he bleeds
Rebels are we, though heavy our hearts shall always be
Ah, no ball or chain no prison shall keep
We`re the rebels of the sacred heart
Genuflect all you refugees who fled the land
Now on guilt you kneel
And say a prayer for those left behind
From beyond the pale to the Northern sky
So you saved your shillins and your last six pence
Cause in God`s name they built a barbed wire fence
Be glad you sailed for a better day
But don`t forget there`ll be hell to pay
Rebels are we, though heavy our hearts shall always be
Ah, no ball or chain no prison shall keep
We`re the rebels of the sacred heart
I said no ball or chain no prison shall keep
We`re the rebels of the sacred heart
Reserrection no protection all things life must be
Ah no ball or chain no prison shall keep
We`re the rebels of the sacred heart
Now bless me father for I have sinned
But it`s the same old story again and again and again
Ah well, such is the bread of an everyday life
From mornin' to noon to this shadowless-night
Rebels are we, though heavy our hearts shall always be
Ah, no ball or chain no prison shall keep
We`re the rebels of the sacred heart
I said no ball or chain no prison shall keep
We`re the rebels of the sacred heart

“What in Khyber?!”
My virtual d20 is not hot this morning. Got 2 on a Knowledge check roll to determine what these things are. Seeing as my best check bonus for knowledge is +6 I’m guessing that won’t tell me much… Roughly how massive are they?

If Beren can take a Knowledge: Nature Check (Roll 17+2=19)
They are large green tinted humanoids, who seem very angry at you. They are distinctly not natural.
They do speak, in giant:
"Shall we smash them," asks the first?
"Smash then eat, yes," the second responds rhetorically?
"Yes smash, then eat, then take there shineys," the other responds, not understanding rhetorical questions.
This continues for a while...

For the Korranberg group:
Valessa’s eye’s widen in surprise … but of course they were giants, so why shouldn’t she be able to understand them? Trying to make her voice as loud and deep as possible she yells out (in Giant):
“We’re not for eating you big dumb lugs!”

Spelcraft check:
DC 16
You feel the magical field of your shield spells drawing additional power from the area.
DC 19
You recognize that your armor has both been enpowered and extended.
If you make either of the above:
Know: Planes
DC17
You recognize the effects of a manifest zone.
DC22
You recognize that you are in a manifest zone of Shavaroth, and that spells relating to battle will be enhanced.

Beren walks into the clearing leading the way through jungle and vines toward their destination. The smell of burnt wood and other flora rise to his nostrils, but before he can react, two giant humanoids approach carrying clubs. Beren hears Ruuz talking behind him then feels the changeling’s touch. Beren feels the odd sensation of his muscles bulging. As he unsheathes his swords, they feel lighter in his hands. By the time he readies his weapons though, the giant is upon him swinging its massive club. A direct hit to the chest sends the shifter backward. Gasping for breath over a bruised body and probably broken bones Beren growls, “I am really starting to hate this place!” Then he launches himself at his attacker, his new found strength invigorating him.

Sari enjoying the walk to the site seems to get a bit distracted with her mind wandering about. She is thinking of the new friends she has made at what lies ahead for her future. When Sari hears the distant sickeningly sweet song coming from one of the nearby trees, Sari turns to Merrick. " I don't like the sound of that!" On instinct Sari grabs her short bow. Sari turns to look at the group of council. She sees the women looking about while Jyra uses this time to grab Ghorkin as if to mark him as her property. Sari looks at her with disgust. "As if I would be remotely interested." She says to no one in particular. Sari then turns back towards the music runs closer to the tree to get a better angle, pulls back her bow and shoots towards the tree aiming for the creature that is sitting in it. Sari figures that it can't be good so might as well be done with it already. Attack: 5+5=10 Crappy.

Attack: 5+5=10 Crappy.
The Harpy responds with a shriek, but returns to her singing momentarily, then she seems to fall forward our of the tree. Inches from the ground she spreads her wings, and is suddenly rising quickly through the air.
The club she is holding is rapped in thorny weeds, and she takes a swing at Jyra as she passes, catching her heavily in the right shoulder and tearing her clothing as well as he skin.
Then the harpy continues its flight, just out of reach.
The other girls and the professor turn towards the harpys new position. The professor breaks away from Jyra's grip, and the trio move closer to the harpy.

Cool, you are just outside the reach of either creature, near Beren, you need to move 10 feet to join the fight.

Spot check =3 yea for me
Upon missing the Harpy with her first arrow, the harpy takes flight with a club in its hand.
Sari ducks on instinct. Upon watching the harpy hit Jyra, Sari runs towards the nearest tree hoping for some cover. As she is running she is reloading her bow. She slides towards the tree, turns and takes aim at the harpy in the sky. She lets the arrow fly away from her hoping that this time it will make its mark true. Attack Roll: 3+4=7 yea I know I missed Upon seeing that her arrow missed its mark, Sari back crawls closer to the tree and looks to find Merreck. She also looks to see where Jyra has gone at to see that she is alright. Sari then looks towards the trio wondering what she can do to help them.

Not sure if this is completely in character, but I am really at a loss on what to have him do. Feel free to adjust accordingly.

Apparently in response to merrecks singing the harpy swoops in to attack him. It lands directly in front of him, and attempts to bash him with its club.
To hit: 12+7=19
damage: 3
The harpy is shrieking angrily now, its song ruined by anger.
The captivated explorers continue to move towards her.
Jyra stoops down and finds herself a club like branch and prepares to join the fight.

“Whew, maybe they’re not as tough as they look,” mutters Valessa, as Beren finishes off the fallen giant. “Aw, Brick, you’re blocking my shot!” Shifting her aim upwards and ensuring her arm is completely steady to avoid any chance of hitting the warforged, Valessa fires off another arrow at the brutish creature.
