Cool!
This will be my first Pathfinder character's weapon of choice...
Desna, Song of the Spheres
CG goddess of dreams, stars, travelers, and luck
Domains: Chaos, Good, Luck, Travel
Favored Weapon: starknife
...unless of course the starknife is cooler.
Anyone up for some crazy speculation? What would we like to see for the goddess of dreams and the stars! (I can tell right now that I'm gonna like her.)

Shucks, here I was hoping for TWO cool weapons. ;)
It's hard to tell from the image and description whether it's 1- or 2-handed. Perhaps there's both: starknife is the smaller of the two and the Star of Desna is a monstrous 2-handed thrown weapon. I'm just saying that'd be cool is all. ;)
It does mention that it's a "second holy weapon," what might be the first I wonder?
I think I'm a champion of Desna already.

It's a one-handed weapon, about the size of four daggers. And as normal with the blog posts, things aren't nailed down completely, so things are subject to change. But for now, the starknife is Desna's favored weapon and she doesn't have any other ones.
But yeah, it can be thrown like a chakram (see Xena). It might end up working like a boomerang, even! Not sure yet. They certainly did when they were in my home-brew campaign world, at least...

Very cool! The boomerang effect is a must. I'm thinking Inuyasha's Sango here.
So... "travel" and "luck" we've seen before, but "dreams" and "stars" are a bit different. Perchance, there are some new domains/spells on the way. Also, there are some logical connections to be made that are profound, such as "travel to the stars." This is gonna be fun!

Hey...
You gotta make this thing work like a boomerang, James. Desna? Goddess of dreams, travel, and the stars? C'mon. Visions of Desna hurling one of these things across the sky like a shooting star and returning once again to her hand are swimming through my head. Having her clerics emulate such a feat while on terra firma would just be extra, extra cool.
And could I get that with a biggie-size order of super-cool on the side?
My two-cents,

I would have returning be a commonly imbued property on magic starknives. Realistically, a normal four pronged dagger would not return when thrown. (I know arguing realism in DnD is silly, but still!)
Now look you fire-breathing, cold-blooded reptile... ;)
Let's just say it's ordained by a god. You could always make it a domain power or something to tie it down to a mystical effect: only the chosen of Desna can gain this effect.
I, however, will continue to ignore "physics" whenever conveniant! ;D

I was always one to give a minor boon to clerics who used the favored weapon anyway.. especially when it was a lower damage dealer...

I think a feat is perfectly reasonable here to make it boomerang. It doesn't limit it to a specific prestige class (although that's reasonable as well, I am thinking they want the weapon to be a bit more ubiquitous)
OF course, boomerangs only return if the MISS...so perhaps part of the granted power of the star domain is you can use a turn undead attempt to have it return, or even better:
Returning is +1 cost right? (no dmg handy atm) make it cost 2 turn undead to give returning
Shocking Burst costs +2, use 3 turn undead to give Shocking burst for x number of rounds (cha bonus?)
etc.it applies only to the starknife
