Does anyone know where I can get a PDF for this issue? My Shackled City HC hasn't arrived yet and I don't want to let my players down (yes, silly me put a date down on the first session without the book.)
Any help would be appreciated.
I have a PDF of the entire path from the Dungeons. I don't know how I would get it to you; if you have an idea, email me [deleted]
I also have a subscription to Dungeon so I have the hard copies and I bought the hardcover book; the PDF is handy to research while at the computer and for printing out items.Robert

Perhaps you two shouldn't plot to illegally distribute intellectual property....just a ever so gentle suggestion and thought, hmmmm.....??
Plus...Dragon #97 was published in like 1984....?
And Perhaps certain people should mind ones own business. Though I'll admit my suggestion wasn't as ever so gentle.
I pointed out that I owned via purchase the item in question (twice in two different formats) so to me it's only a back-up; furthermore, the author of the post indicated he too paid for a harcover.
Finally, I believe he meant Dungeon 97, not Dragon. Fortunately, I'm savvy enough to figure that out. hmmmm??

PDFs of the entire run of Shackled City issues should become available in the coming months.
That, of course, is an awesome bit of news, as I am seriously contemplating running Life's Bazaar again, at the behest of one of the original players.
Or, of course, I *could* just beg for the HC for my birthday...

Thanks, Koldoon. I was being a 'little' sarcastic myself with the ..hmmmmm....comment, so I'm not offended. I just wanted to warn them that what they were talking about was illegal. Thanks for the back up, though!
It was the sarcastic condenscending tone that did indeed prompt my rather brusque response.
I appreciate you acknowledging that, and I apologize for lashing out.
That being said, I was under the impression that having a backup of something is not a breach of such copyright laws if in fact we did pay for a copy of it; (which I assure you I did...twice)

NP, I'm sorry as well. I don't think you mean any harm--this kind of stuff comes up periodically and I think it's just a matter of educating folks. I investigated music and video piracy (among many other things) for 7 years, so I'm rather draconian in my views on this type of stuff.

Having a backup copy is not a problem. Offering to share it with others is........
Section 117 of the Copyright Act is what permits people to make archival (or "backup") copies of copyrighted software, but the US Copyright Office notes that "this privilege extends only to computer programs and not to other types of works."

Yep. Chris Thomasson helped me shape it as my editor...mostly chopping it in half. It originally had a Yellowstone Park setting with steam vents and mudpots and a few mephits causing mischief before they meet the dwarves.
AND, I sent in the proposal in an outline form! It still got picked up! Like A) 1) a) b) blablabla. Inconceivable!

Fair enough, i thought it would have been legal to have a PDF backup of just the adventure path. My mistake.

Thanks for clarifying that, Vic.
