I would say we should pay rent first and I have enough money left over from the lab fund to make quit a few potions and scrolls.
Dragonmann what is your policy on XP cost for magic items can we spread it out or am I just going to take the hit?
I'll think about it. I tend to lean towards 'it is your problem', and come up with places for non-makers to spend xp as well.
Specifically (if anyone missed it) anyone can spend 500 xp to gain one permanent hp up to their theoretical limit, that is max possible from hit dice.
I don't figure it will hurt too much, especially once you get reclaim essence.

Where could I go to train with a beguiler so I could maybe take a level in that? I might as well take advantage of the changeling benefits and increase some of my deception skills and I thought that the beguiler would fit good. If that would be to hard to find I can alway follow Valessa around hehe.
I probably wait until I can create wondrous items first but just planning ahead.

I believe that there are 7 of us now.
Valessa, Rokko, Sari, Merreck, Ruuz, Brick & Beren
We have 500 gold from the bounty money. If we use this to pay rent, we are left with 250.
We can split this 7 ways or we can start an account with Kundarak (sp?) to pool resources for our later foray into the deep.
Any other thoughts?
I am going to suggest that we save it as a group to pool resources later, or just in case we need next months rent.
Utak
I agree. We should pay the rent (I'll chip in my 10 gold!) and then save the rest. The idea of being turned out for late rent in Stormreach doesn't appeal to me and I get the feeling that that kobold wouldn't be a pushover.
Keep your gold. We will use the bounty money we received from Tessik.

Shiny, I think you last posted as Brick when we were talking to Tessik? Well, since then we decided that we didn’t have the resources to go after sahuagin under the ocean just yet, so looked for another mission instead.
As a member of House Denieth, Sari got us a job guarding a Morgrave University expedition heading to a mysterious rift in the jungle. Only it turns out the leader of the expidition is a professor that Valessa has some history with (and dislikes / distrusts), so the group has now hatched a plan that half of them pose as an allied expedition, seeking to join forces with the Morgrave one, and split the proceeds (or possibly take the professors share of the proceeds…)
We’re just about to leave to meet the professor. Brick is going along as part of the (fictional) “Korranberg Expedition”.

Hey Shiney,
Looks like you are on the boards right now, hope you see this.
Not sure how many more weeks you will be away, but any incite into the psyche of Brick would be appreciated. I do not feel that I am playing him appropriatly, but I do not want to sideline him either.
Any info you could provide on how Brick would act in combat (ie, 1st round, 2nd round, 3rd round) would be appreciated. Favorite spells? Also, is he adjusted for second level. His profile still says level 1. I think Brick is a really cool character, and I do not feel like I am portraying him properly and doing him justice.
Thanks.

Brick is a very simple creature. His main motive is curiosity: the more interesting and new something looks, the more likely he is to go for it. Originally, he was very uncomfortable about hurting or killing people / monsters, but in the past few weeks, he has learned that sometimes, he must defend himself and his friends.
Brick tends not to use words longer than two syllables, unless he has just learned them. In this latter case, he tends to overuse them. He also tends to refer to enemies as either 'bad things' or 'bad guys.'
Most of the spells Brick prepares are healing spells. He will frequently prepare healing spells for all of his spell slots. Brick also favors spells that have some sort of light effect, such as light, continual flame, and daylight*. He never prepares damage-dealing spells (though he makes an exception for disrupt undead). Brick also never refers to his spells by name (for example: light equals 'hand-shinies').
In combat, Brick always waits for the 'bad guys' to make the first move. (If he is first in initiative, move him to second). During the first round of combat, he moves to a position in which he is close to the center of the group (so he is able to reach anyone who is hurt). If directly attacked, he will hit back with his greatclub. However, he will resume healing the next round. In combat, he's basically a 7'8", 450-pound re-useable healing potion that fights back if attacked.

Shit. Are you alright man? That is scary and surreal, I'm very glad you're still with us. As I'm typing this, I feel like I need to check your post again to make sure that IS actually what you wrote.
Man. Thank God you're ok. Stay safe, rest, heal up. Any idea yet of how long recovery will take? Is your family ok, I've never experienced something like that before, but I imagine it can screw up your loved ones pretty badly too...
I can take NPC duties for a while if you like, though I'm generally not here on weekends.
I dont know that theres anything I can do, being on the otherside of the world, and not even knowing your real name or anything, but if there is, please let me know.

I want to thank all of you for the kind words. It looks like it could have been a lot worse. I was at the hospital today just for stitch check. All looks good and no infection. I am even being weened off the painkillers slightly which gives me some lucidity. I am able to move my fingers and I have my arm propt on the table so I can use the shift key for upper-case letters. WooooHOOOOOOO. I feel like I really have a new perspective on life. I should be around now for posting for Beren.
Thanks again all for your concern
Cheers.

Nice one - glad to hear you are no longer as high as a kite. Though whether you are so happy about it....
I used to take morphine on occasion for my gall stones. Horrible stuff - didn't take away the pain, I just used to pass out for 12 hours and wake up feeling lousy. I have never understood how you end up addicted to that stuff, the sensation was ghastly.

Actually, that is how it starts. The junk wears off, withdrawal sets in. Think of your worst migraine. Then times that by ten. Addicts then need a fix to feel better, then more of a fix next time. Before they know it, the addict has a $1,000-$10,000 a month habit and will do anything for a fix. Scary world.

Glad you back Utak and feeling better, well you have one scar that you can show off that I will never (hopefully) have.
Yeah the hard core pain meds suck I had percidine(sp?) for a knee surgery and it was the worst. Like being the most tired you can be and not being able to sleep, you can't keep you eyes open so you just stare at the back of your eyelids.

Hey Shiney,
One more thing. Since Brick rested last, I NPC'd him using 1 CLW spell. He also got hit by an ogre, then repaired by Ruuz, then slapped around by some bats. According to my math, Brick is at 3 HP.
Utak
How are you doing Utak? Recovering ok? Back at work soon, or planning (or need to) take more time off?
Anyway, hope you're doing well...
Hey Mothman,
Thanks for asking. I am actually doing quite well considering. This whole thing really put life into perspective for me. I will probably be back to work, at least half-days, by next week. I stopped in the office today to say hi and talk to the Director. I got new carpeting in my office. Always looking on the bright side. I think I might even be getting a new title. Cha Ching.
Cheers

Nice. Well, I'm glad you're able to look on the bright side - and even more so that there's a bright side to look on!
Good luck with your return to work.

Hey Everyone,
In RL, I am somewhat of a planner. A month from now I will be away for 2 weeks, cruising up the Atlantic Coast Leaving from New York and reaching into Nova Scotia to do whale watching and hopefully some hiking. The dates I will be away are 9/23-10/5. Would anyone care to NPC Beren during that time?
Cheers

Heh. Anyone hear about that broken time machine that was selling on ebay a while back?
Anyway Dragonmann, just wanted to say that I’m finding this part of the game especially cool (and creepy). I don’t know if any of you guys ever played Star*Drive – Alternity setting? Well, never got to but always wanted to … this reminds me of the exploration of old, ancient, mysterious alien ruins in that game, which I always thought was one of the cooler parts of that game.
Arctaris
No but I heard that some lady sold her father's ghost on ebay because the ghost was scaring her son (she sold a silver cane or something in the deal so that people would be getting something).
I'm afraid I'll have little or no internet access until Friday afternoon so there may be need to NPC me.
