Thoughts about how to fight the end boss (spoilers)

Savage Tide Adventure Path

The strategy goes roughly like this:

They know its Big D.
But fear the consequences of slaying him... like getting that whole tower to collapse on top of them, or being overrun by other demons etc.
Besides, they want to loot the place... all those ancient ad powerful experiments.. "curiosity that killed the cat"..

So the idea is to trap him, and then make simulcras that will know everything and can manage the realm for their needs ;)

Ie:
1) Mordenkainens*2 (away with nasty defences against what is to follow)
2) 2-3 monks, turned into liches (5 attacks, gotta fail that save vs paralysis sooner or later, if even just after 30 attacks, looking for that "1").
3) Persistant timestop
4) Craft 2 empowered up simulcras of him

Notes: Lucky bastards will have all the xp they can use for a while from those larvae ~9000 in total(?), esp in combination with that abyssal feat, that pays 75% of all xp costs in spells.. hey they even got the perfect target right there next to them to drain :D Poetic justice of sorts...
Note 2: Redwizardry and spelldancing are nice ways of getting extra spell levels to throw on metamagic, casterlevels too.. as iirc you need to have more caster levels than hd of the target for simulcra these days.
Note 3: Hiding away the body will be a priority.. minimus or similar containment in a pocket .... lol, having a demonlord in your pocket :D :D

Obviously the other forces that will be coming, IF, they are coming are something to be dealt with too..
Allowing O & G to win would just spoil the looting, so in true demonic fashion, turning upon their allies. Maybe, just maybe managing to get the eladrins to join in the turnaround too ;)

While at the same time, no doubt needing the distraction O & G can provide. Thats another few ways to cause headache for the plan :D

oops, did some math, regarding the pits full of larvae.

30'*30'*40' = 36.000 cu ft
Each is a "foot long worm", ie probly not a full cubic foot each... more like half, and they ARE packed!

So something like 50.000 larvae in each pit, 150.000 total = 1.500.000 xp to burn, or as sold according to prices in BoVD: 37.500.000 gp.

Thats quite a Monte Haul! Must be one of the biggest hauls handed out in dungeon so far :D

You can't empower simulacrum anymore. It doesn't have a variable numeric effect.

Ice Assassin (frostburn) might work, though.

Nonsense. Selling the entire population of Scuttlecove into slavery is a much larger haul, even if the high-level named characters are killed or allowed to escape. None of the NPCs of Scuttlecove or Sasserine are any more capable of stopping particularly aggressive PCs than the NPCs of Divided Ire.

In fact, the larva are probably even harder to get to market, because the PCs have already captured a fleet of mundane ships that have already been employed for regular slave shipments, while most potential buyers for the larva require some form of planar travel to reach. Larva that is left unattended will certainly be poached in short order, while slaves left unattended could conceivably increase in number after the initial infighting.

lol..!

Yrah like shipping some of them south to work our pepper-fruit farms, predicted to rake in 250 millions in another 4 years (too bad they take 3 years to mature..).

And getting a few thousand painracks, and enjoying the payoff of some 500.000 a day in sold agony or 7500xp for whatever uses a day.. (for 3000 racks & captives).
Thinking of that blood temple in Blade, but way bigger, as a working model for harvesting innumerable customers.
A few lucky ones get to walk with a rock of restoration touching the customers occasionally.
Slip up in the duty and get to take the place of the damaged customer :D

Oh yeah, and have a ur-priest make those racks. Way cheaper that way..
Or better yet, a warlock.. They can quite freely craft them from those larvae. Each goes at 250gp or 10xp, im sure they are useful material as such for such a item... ;)

I'm probably the only one. But, for the most part, I've got no idea what this thread is talking about.

It took me a moment to catch on.

Ikki is speculating on his obviously not-so-good (ie. evil) party taking advantage of abyssal currency (ie. larvae)to either get rich or to convert them to XP to create items using craft ____.

more or less has a bunch of various thoughts penned down..
